Hey people!

Ive been doing some work on eCommerce, and already have my business set up and my tax id from the irs. I signed up for worldwide brands and applied for an account with one supplier to see how it goes.

I was approved with the supplier but they are asking for a copy of my Sales and Use Certificate, which I'm not sure what it is, nor if I should already have it or if its just the same as the tax ID. Do you know what I should do in this case?
I reside in GA btw.

Thanks!,

Jo

Some states have this requirement, but the state I live in doesn't. Just tell the drophip company your state doesn't reuire it.

They will send email you a special form or letter you have to sign.

Contact them as soon as possible.

It should not be a problem.

from the fed you have what is called an EIN (employer identification number) ... What you need to do is call your local town or county government and they can tell you have to get a business license or business certificate... gently speaking states do not require these on a state level but towns and counties usually do. For example where I lived in Virginia i had to go to the Chesterfield county gov building to get a business license, the license was issued by the county not the state.

        Hey guys!
I was doing a lot of reading and it turns out that I can apply for the Sales and Use tax id within the georgia tax website. When I did they said that the certificate will be mailed to me within 5 business days.

Even though I was not prepared for this, and I could have been before I applied for the account with the supplier, I can probably work around it and send the a copy to the supplier as soon as I receive it!
