Building an Etsy website

Hi all,
I wish to have a website with the style of Etsy (Multi-vendor ecommerce website).
I saw around some clones (Getsy, Buy&Sell, etc...) but I don't know anyone that already had experience buying the Getsy one.
http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...pt-market.html

I contacted someone in UK that bought the Buy&Sell and she told me the site works ok, but only for an small amount of sellers as there are some problems.
Anyway, she told me that for her is enough, but she said if I want something bigger, maybe is not the correct "etsy clone" to buy.

I wish to know opinions about "Getsy" and their clone. They offer different versions and I'm not sure what to do.

I wish also to know if there are other options (maybe buy a plugging and some specialist build the site, etc...)

If anyone can give good advice, opinion, etc... and bring some light to this issue, it will be highly appreciated.

With all respects,
Thanks,
Monguimet

I use Woocommerce with a multi-vendor extension that I bought. It couldn't get any easier to set up and use.

    • This woocommerce extension is great but....you need the appropriate theme, i checked all the themeforest but no sell/buy themes!! any help?
  • I have used Magento and Xcart for a while but quiet expensive and tired of some old bugs.
Just late last year i moved to Joomla and used jMarket multi-vendors. The drawback is you need to know how to use Joomla.
But I am pretty happy with jMarket, it has alot of features for a multi-vendor and it allows me to do auction and do membership site as well.
And it only cost $300 for all important addons like shopping cart, multi-vendor, help solution, newsletter and pretty much everything we need and it is one time payment only plus open-source as well.
I recommend to check it out. Otherwise you have Virtuemart which is Free and there are some third part developers who are selling multi seller like etsy.
  • Magento Go is a bit complex, you can try for Prestashop. It also provides multivandor facility by utilizing its Agile multiple sellers/vendors module for Prestashop.
  • never knew what Getsy was, will look into that, thanks
  • If there is already Etsy, why are you trying to copy it?

    Copiers always fail.
