How to rank Woocommerce product pages

None of my product pages on my site rank well. Most barely get into the top 100 for low competition words.

The strange thing is that I can rank blog posts on the same site really easy. In fact the homepage gets a lot of impressions compared to similar sites. I can post a blog page and it almost always ranks top 20 straight away for targeted kw's.

However if I make a new product and use the same strategy to rank it as the blog posts (kw density, article length, url, meta etc) it rarely even gets into the top 100.

This isn't an issue with competitiveness as even obscure, non competitive search terms struggle to rank in top 100.

Anyone have success ranking woocomerce products that care to offer some advice or experience?

  • Hey,

I have ranked hundreds of woocommerce products well on Google on lots of different sites, one of the key things I have found that works is to make sure 'rich snippets' are set up in Google Webmaster Tools, this tells Google it is a product, with a price etc and in my experience helps to get great rankings.

To find out how to add rich snippets for products check out on Google here: https://support.google.com/webmaster...r/146750?hl=en

    Hope that helps

Thanks a lot for the tip. Although I didn't manually configure the rich snippets they seem to be working as I can see price and rating in google search results. I also used Google Structured Data Testing Tool to check the product pages. Authorship and product data is working but publisher markup is not it seems, although the site is connected with its google+ page.

Do you make sure Authorship, Publisher and Extracted structured data are all working for the product pages?
