How fast do you ship?

So...

I'm actually curious about this because I ordered a used book off of Amazon and discovered today it's going to take at least 10 more days to get ready for shipment. Needless to say I've canceled that order.

I normally ship the same or next day if I can. If not no more than 3 days waiting. But 5 to 10 days is just nuts to me. How fast do you all ship?

I ship same business day whenever possible. The very latest I ship is within 24 hours (business days).

It all depends on the store but obviously, faster is better. I have had a couple of stores where we sold products that were made to order. Those obviously took longer, but the customer knew beforehand that it would take a week or two. If I were selling books, they would undoubtedly be out the door within 1 business day.

Usually we ship within 24hrs of order being placed.

We have noticed that users tend to be patient if the product they are ordering is niche or custom made.

As a seller, I ship with 24 hours or less. But some of these sellers are amazing. Yesterday I sent an email to an Amazon seller cancelling my order because it had been NINE DAYS and they still hadn't shipped! Within the next hour I receive a shipping notice from Amazon from guess who? Then they send an email saying that it's too late to cancel the order because they've already shipped, blah, blah, blah. Don't they know the kind of feedback I'm going to leave? It's a really dumb way to run a business.

That sucks! I don't get why Amazon sellers take so long these days. They must be pure lazy!

It's nice to see that many of you ship at a good time.

It's not that they are lazy it's that they are listing books that they don't physically have in stock. Another disadvantage of the drop shipping business model. I'm surprised that Amazon would even allow them to take that much time without cancelling the order.

Amazon allows 30 days for an order to be shipped. Newegg only allows three before auto voiding.

For some of our various products, we usually ship no later than 24 hours after the order but sometimes within the same day depending on the order time and cutoff time.

Within 24 hours or less. If I receive an order at 5 PM, it goes out the next day at 8 AM.

Its best to have the product shipped on the same day - most customers will get super impressed and will remember your service. It's a big hassle for the vendor (you), but it's worth it and will pay off.

However, of course, you need to make it clear on your site regarding the cut-off time. For example, anything after 4pm, will be shipped next day.

Take a look at Amazon for example, that's what they are doing also.
"Order in the next XX hours, get it delivered by {date}"

    Hope it helps!

Amazon sellers are required to ship within 2 business days otherwise it is counted as the shipment being late and counts against the sellers metrics.

My non-amazon sales ship within 5-10 business days for some things, 2-3 weeks for imported/specialty items - it depends on how speedy the vendor is in shipping and if I have to do a minimum order or not. Most ship within 2-5 business days (and of course everything I sell on Amazon or Ebay I ship next business day).

  • In my opinion, items should be shipped ASAP. When possible and if the item is in stock, it should be shipped within 24 hours. If an item cannot be shipped within 24 hours, it is important that the buyer knows exactly how long it will be for an item to ship before they purchase the item.

As fast as I possibly can.

The idea for me is to get the stuff in the post before they have time to ask for a refund. Sometimes it is within the hour.

Unfortunately it is not always possible to do it so fast though, some products of ours suddenly go viral, then we don't have enough stock for the increased demand, so it takes a few extra days... of course then it stops being viral and we have too much stock LOL... tough balance.

I try to ship the same or next business day. 10 days of preparing the package is a whole lot of time, and I wonder what these guys are up for.

We ship the same day for all our products. What used to happen was that we'd give ourselves 24 hours to process then end up processing at 3pm the next day. And then we'd find out there was an error with a sku/product/inventory and it wouldn't be until the next day that we'd be able to contact the supplier. Add 2-3 days on top of that to get the product. Then if you don't ship right and wait the next day at 3pm...

So there's a big chance to get off your game when you don't operate at an optimal level when it comes to your shipping.

Adding shipping times of 10 days or more is just a way for sellers to keep their inventory listed, although in all likelihood they are probably out of stock—that additional time allows them to get the stock in.

As an FBA seller I do not ever ship anything to my customers. Amazon ships for me which means it is very prompt. Your recent order for books from Amazon must have been from "Merchant Fullfillment" sellers. Those sellers either did not have them, do not ship fast or were on vacation, etc.
This simply illustrates why beiing an FBA seller has advanatages over mercahnat fullfillment. It is better for the consumer and better for the seller, a real win-win situation IMO.

I am lucky enough to have the post office just half a mile away so I ship all orders received before 4.30 on the same day (excluding weekends and Bank Holidays) Over the years this policy has provided me with 1000's of great feedback on my website, Amazon and ebay. Break your back to get the item to your customer ASAP, it is well worth it.

We ship the same day if customers order before 2pm - or the next working day if they order after 2pm. We also use the fastest shipping service available (not courier, just general mail service).

If we don't dispatch fast and use a quick shipping service the inevitable "where's my item?" emails soon start to pour in!
