is it important to have full category in the url?

I'musing opencart and it doesn't show the category name in the url. is there any carts that do or it's possible to change opencart for it?

    It is quite common at e-commerce sites to have URLs reflecting directory categories and subcategories of products. but when it comes down to product level, they are all allocated under something .... completely out of their natural allocation under corresponding categorized URLs. Use something better to describe what you sell other than just “products”. At least use one directory for all products. Do not place them directly under root domain.

    thanks. that not what i really meant. i was looking for a shopping cart product categories are seo friendly in the url not the one with random numbers and letters. is there one with an option like in wordpress?

    Oh, I have searched for your problem and caught a opencart forum where your problem is disscussed you can go throught it. And in woocommerce, I think permalinks are structured and are customizable if you want to customize them.

    Yes, sometimes it is important to have full category change URL, but it will be calculated in the cart from open cart. There are two options for perfect wordpress URL, first option is URL should not end with post name, second option URL could be prefix with the category.

    Hi IMStrategus,

    Every CMS or Framework uses the standard permalink structure. You can easily set or show the full category URL. But if there is no support for permalink then you can create your own customized URL for your category page using regular expressions and redirect it to the original location using .htaccess file.
