For the Woocommerce users - Questions

Hey Everyone,

I am helping out a friend and trouble shooting his girlfriends website build with woo commerce and hosted at Hostgator. Have any of you had issues with 1. connecting with PayPal Pro and/or 2. IPN issues and hostgator blocking the IPN requests?

  • Come on, this is the Warrior Forum, they love Hostgator and wordpress. No one has run into this issue?
  • I use WooCommerce for one of my client's sites but I've never experienced either of those issues. If HostGator is blocking the IPN requests, I'd probably just call them up and see if they can get it taken care of. They're usually pretty good about things like that.

    • Thanks. Since I didn't have access to the hosting account I needed to guide the idiot "developer" that put it all together. At this point she was just so pissed off, I ended up moving everything to Shopify and had that up in 3 days.

      As another aside, I am really liking some of the changes Shopify is making to their platform...

  • Well put! Thank you for taking the time to type that up and share. I see from your other thread that you're a big BigCommerce advocate. I'm trying out a demo site built on their platform right now actually.

    Do you have an opinion on which cart would be better for a site that's specifically going to be dropshipping every single last product it sells? Not sure if you've ever ran a site like that.

    • As always... it depends. How many products, how many categories, sub-categories, options, warehouses, is shipping real time or just flat rate per order, overseas shipping or just Canada?
