Hi Warriors,

Seen many post asking which paid eCommerce service is good or how to get started or finding customers. So I decided to write this quick guide to help you which how I started my ecommerce business with $0. Which for really poor people or tight budget, used to like me.

The method we are going to use is "buy low and sell high" and drop shipping.

Your first task is to get a hosting plan and domain plan for your eCommerce. You can easily start with less than $10. If you don't even have $10, this is how you going to get your money.

Few ways to do it. First you can go download mobile market app where people are buying and selling. Or online market forums in your local country. Can easily find using Google search.

Now you have to find good deal such as people trying to get rid and selling at very low price.

Example this person John is selling away his ps3 game at $10. And you think this is good deal. So you post this ps3 game at mobile market or market forum selling $20. So if someone offer and interested, ask buyer to make payment. Once you received payment, contact John and buy the ps3 game from him and mail it to your customer. Or if you want can tell John to mail it to you first then you mail it to your customer.

So now you got your $10 profit in your pocket. It's time to get your hosting plan and domain.

You can choose which hosting plan and domain provider you want. I'm using godaddy for both as my hosting and domain provider. You can easily get a hosting plan as low as $1.49/mth to $4.99/mth. And for domain you can easily get at $1.90 or $2.90 per domain names. Just search in Google "domain provider coupons". So for my case, I'm using godaddy so I type search "godaddy coupons" and I registered my domain at $1.90/year.

Next you going to choose your free open source ecommerce and install it to your site. Such as open cart, os commerce and many other on the Web. Again google search it for what are the free open source ecommerce that you can use. Many people will stuck here, but don't worry I am going to teach you how to solve it easily.

Two methods. One is you do your research and learn, there are many tutorial videos on the Web. Example "how to install open cart" and there are tons of tutorial. Once you learn it, is actually very easy. Another method is go to fiverr and ask someone to help you and install. And it just cost $5 which can help you save a lot of time.

Now let's assume at this point you got your own hosting, domain name and website is up.

Now you need to upload your products. And where do you find your products since you have no money.

You can find drop shipping website and upload all their products to your own website. Or search around the market who have their own ecommerce store and upload their products to your own website. Contact the website owner to ask for permission to use their pictures and negotiate with them that you wish to have a long term business with them and ask for discount. Normally the owner will create an account which have discount for you. I always did that and this help increase my profit and can set my price at very competitive rate. If the owner don't wish to give you discount then it's alright just move on and find another one.

The boring part here is the uploading of products to your website. You can do it yourself or you can go to fiverr and ask someone to upload for you.

Now you need to find customers to your website. Here are some methods which I find it very effective.

Go to any mobile market place, if possible find your local country mobile market place or market forum to promote. Post your items list here as many as possible. Remember put in your contact such as email address or your number if you are comfortable. Just make sure they can reach you easily. And always put your website link into your listing description. Refer them to your website. Within few hours or 1 to 2 days, will have customers enquiry and so on. Everyday you keep repeating upload more products and list in whatever market place you can find and refer them to your website. This need to be consistent and make sure St least upload few products and list it in market place.

You need to have a long term customers who keep come back to you as well. So what I do is using member discount. Try to make them sign up as member to your eCommerce site and enjoy discount just by becoming member. And give whatever benefits that you think can keep them come back.

This method works and it takes time to build because I used this method and it is generating healthy few hundreds profit within 3 months of consistence effort.

All this is hard work and you can't be forever everyday upload and list in market place. So outsource the job using your profit.

But i recommend you use these profit and invest in other project which can generate passive income. Such as affiliate marketing and many other ways which can do you own research.

Hope this quick guide will help you. CHEERS!

    Thanks newbieleoling for your info.
I have been wondering how to get these inventories for my ecommerce site. Now I have the idea of where to start. How about setting up the shopping cart? How can I put up the payment plan that is convenient to my prospects or customers?
And then shipping the product has got some techniques that I don't understand. I will start my site early July using this method.
    Thanks

      Hi there.

Normally everything is set up for you. The shopping cart, the payment plans and etc. You can check out "opencart" which I am using. Check out their demo e-store.

For payment plan, once you install open source ecommerce store, the payment plan is already set up for you inside the admin page. Choose your payment service provider such as paypal, 2checkout or other that you are using. If the payment service provider that you using is not in the list just search google for it and install it to your e-store.

      Shipping have two methods.

One is dropshipping. Example A is you, B is dropshipper and C is your customer.

Today C bought your product headphone model X at $20 in your eCommerce site. Now you go to B website and buy the headphone model X at $10. And B will ship this headphone directly to C who is your customer.

That means you earn a $10 profit and B help you do all the handling and shipping.

Another method is you handle and ship the products yourself.

Sometime the products you are selling and your supplier don't do dropshipping. You have to handle the process yourself.

Example A is you, B is the Seller you buy from and C is buyer who you sell to.

So once you sold headphone model X to C at $20. You order the headphone model X from B at $10 and send it to your house. Once you receive it, you mail it to C.

There are good and bad for those two shipping methods. I use both shipping method for me. But choose the one that suit you. Remember at the end of the day your main focus is still earning profit from your customers. And make them come back to you automatically.

    Hi-newbieleoling!

Thanks for the great post. It is very helpful. I have a question. It is very hard to find trustable wholesaler searching on Google, in that case should I buy a membership on wholesaler directory. Like:
    1. Doba
    2. Worldwide Brands
    3. Salehoo
If I should, which one would be best?

      Hi there.

I personally don't buy membership for wholesale. So I don't really know whether is it good or not.

But you can source it yourself if you want. Of course these takes time. And remember Google is always your best friend when finding dropshippers.

      1. Type in the product you want to dropship in Google.
Example "lady crop top dropship" "men top dropshipper" and etc.

Quick tip here: make use of word "top" in your search. Like "top 10 dropshipping" or "top 20 UK dropshipper" and etc. These help you save a lot of time finding quality dropshippers.

      2. Once you found it you need to know whether the dropshipper is it good and trustable with good customer service.
      Example: you found xyzdropship.com
Now you go to Google and check out their reviews. Search "xyzdropship.com reviews" read as many reviews as possible. Definitely there good and bad reviews. Never have any reviews with 100% positive in my experience. But what to look out for is at least 70% to 80% or more positive reviews.

      3. Once you think this dropship site have many good reviews. Email their customer service about any questions you have.

This is important. Because if their customer service is not good that means they will treat your customer not good as well.

Some of the questions you can ask.
      1. How long it takes to ship to "your customer country"
      2. What are the shipping rate
      3. Do you provide any warranty for products send?
      4. Do you provide non watermark pictures
And etc... whatever questions you want to know.

What to look out for is how fast they reply to you. If it's take within 1 day is good. If 2 days is not bad. But if more than 3 days you can skip find next one. Unless you wish to try, maybe by ordering one cheap product. And check out their quality and service.

Quick tip: you can include this in the email.

      "Hi

I am "name" from xx country, a e business owner. I am interested in doing a long term business with you as my dropshipper.

Is there any dropshipper account for me to enjoy discount for my order? "

What you want here is more discount. Normally they will give you few percentage discount and a dropshipper account.

If don't have is fine. You can always email them again once you have done many orders with them. Because when you have done many orders with them, they will most likely will give you discount to keep you as their customer.

      4. Buy one cheap product and test how efficient and quality of the products. This is optional step.

One last thing. Never ever stick to just one dropshipper. At least have 2 or 3 dropshippers. Because you don't want to shut down your business if your dropshipper shut down for whatever reason. And you can expand your products range too.

      newbieleoling,

Great advice. One question, how are you keeping the drop shipper from including his material instead of yours in the package he ships? Seems to me he'll be sending his invoice and his advertising and not yours.
