Best Ecommerce Platform for Complicated Sizing?

Hi Warrior,

Hope you can help. I am trying to create a site selling doors however I'm not sure which platform to use.

The problem I have is that the door sizes need to be entered by the user and then a price is given, so not S,M,L.

Eg. the user could enter 90cm*180cm and this would produce £100 or they could enter 94*185cm and it would produce £104.

Anyone have any ideas?

    Shopify might be a good website platform for you. There are templates you can chose from, and you can download apps to customize it. There's also 3dcart, ZenCart, Magento and BigCommerce. Our software integrates with each of them. Might be easier to start on a marketplace first though, since you don't have to drive as much traffic (the popularity of a marketplace does most of that for you). I'd recommend checking out Etsy. There's a "custom order" option on an Etsy seller's storefront, and you can specify in your page that all customers must contact you prior to give you the dimensions. Might be a good fit. Good luck!

    How many different doors will you list online? is there a minimum and maximum length and width for each door?

    Should the customer be able to select fractional measurements like 100.25 cm? If so what is the minimum increment?

      Hi,

      There is a min and max for both length and width, and measurements must be whole numbers like 100 cm 101cm.

    Would dropdown boxes be OK for both the width and height? If so Magento can do this.
