Any Good Wholesaler/Manufacturers That Will Actually help you make profit?

I have been looking for weeks for sources on the internet that have low enough prices. Any recommendations? I have personally found so many websites that have about the same prices as Amazon/eBay and websites that sell mostly accessories. I am looking for a website or manufacturer that requires business license, and when you buy wholesale is cheaper.

I buy from a small business manufacture I found on ebay & mark the price up 50% for a different traffic source (not ebay traffic). It's an unbranded product.

Another source for US manufactures is thomasnet.com, they have thousands of manufactures listed.

Don't expect anyone to just give away this kind of information for free on a forum. This kind of information is EXTREMELY valuable and giving away the information would only make it less valuable.

Having said that there are almost unlimited number of suppliers that can be profitable.

      I second kjamesnv on this.
You have to find them on your own.
Try to use yellow pages or some specialized directories. Buy direct from the manufacturer. Try to avoid middlemen whenever possible.

You mean the "big green books" that used to be called "The Thomas Registers" long before the internet came along. That is definitely your best source.

The only way to buy at real wholesale prices is to buy direct from the real manufacturers. In most western countries that can be very difficult to do because western manufacturers don't want to be bothered with small fry.
This is also correct. They are known as "Warehouse Distributors" because they order full truckloads or cargo containers by train from the manufacturer. That allows the WD to sell at close to wholesale prices to the resellers in their local area.

You should also consider getting your own private label product. My husband is a world class chemist and has been private labeling products in the automotive industry since 1968. 209-610-9850

You aren't going to find cheap suppliers that easily. As you have already pointed out, most sellers on eBay charge the same price as what so-called wholesale/manufacturers ask for. My advice would be worry about WHERE you are going to sell it, as this means you may be able to charge more. I'm not saying you can't sell it on eBay, but good luck beating all the small businesses in China and Hong Kong that make minimal profit. You used to be able to really milk the cash cow on eBay, but it is getting harder and harder.

Provided people are willing to remove the "wholesale" blinkers and decide to buy at the best possible prices, there are huge profits to be made.

The problem for most people is that this thread is titled eCommerce sites, wholesaling and dropshipping, and this leads them to only think within that narrow perspective.

I would like to emphasize the difference between buying wholesale and buying from a wholesaler. The wholesaler buys direct from the manufacturer and pays wholesale price. He then adds his margin and resellers buy from the wholesaler at a higher price than the wholesaler paid.

Resellers who buy from wholesalers are not paying wholesale prices. They are paying wholesale prices plus the wholesaler's markup.

The only way to buy at real wholesale prices is to buy direct from the real manufacturers. In most western countries that can be very difficult to do because western manufacturers don't want to be bothered with small fry.

That is one of the big reasons that people buy from China and other overseas countries. Manufacturers in those countries are very keen to do business with anyone who can buy even a few hundred dollars worth. Try placing an order for $200 or $300 worth of product from a manufacturer in the US for example.

If you know what you are doing it is possible to place orders for small quantities with genuine overseas manufacturers and get real wholesale prices. Those prices will amaze anyone who has bought what they call "wholesale", from wholesalers.

Alibaba is a good source but make sure you pay with Paypal to protect yourself from scams on there, but it is a great place to get good prices as long as you are buying smaller light weight products that won't kill you on shipping prices.

Where are you based out of (or selling from)?

Most manufacturers will sell to you directly (especially since you said you have your business license, etc.)

If you find an authorized distributor (who buys from a manufacturer) they usually sell to you at the same price and sometimes cheaper than if you buy from the manufacturer directly.

The key is first selecting what you want to sell and then find out who the major manufacturers are.

This is often the case in the US, but the way it works in China is quite different.

Those who think that volume means large discounts have never dealt with Asian manufacturers. Sure they give discounts for larger quantities, but those discounts are usually very small.

Over 22 years of importing, I have found that discounts for volume were typically in the 1% to 2% range for doubling the size of an order. Multiply the minimum order quantity by 10 and you might get a discount as high as 10% if you are lucky. Therefore buyers should not expect substantial discounts for volume.

This means that if you can persuade a Chinese manufacturer to supply a small order, (and it can be done) the price will still be low enough to give you a huge profit margin.

This certainly happens in the US and other western countries, but not in China. If you want the best prices, with massive profit margins, you must go direct to the real manufacturers.

Many of the so-called wholesalers or distributors in China don't carry inventory. In fact many of them have no formal arrangement with the manufacturer whose product they are advertising. They hope to get an order and then because they have quoted a big MOQ they hope that big order quantity will convince the manufacturer to supply them.

They are just opportunists who add a big margin to the manufacturer's price and buyers think they must be getting the best price because they are buying wholesale.
