Hi everyone, this is my first time here and im hoping you may all be able to help me with a couple questions on affiliate marketing websites as im hoping to launch my own.

I aim on making a website selling clothing and other products / accessories to the public via affiliate marketing. I hope to get onboard multiple small businesses to sign up to an affiliate program if they dont already have one and let me sell their products on my own site.

I was just wondering if anyone here has any affiliate marketing experience as i cant see another sites to exist which are similar to what i hope to have?

I want it to look like an actual retail site with a basket to which peoples items are held in the basket after selection and are able to purchase multiple products at once rather then get sent to the owners own site ? Is this possible? Can i have a site where multiple products from different brands are purchased in a single basket and their money goes off to their own affiliate program's set in place?

I apologise for the essay but i dont know how else to ask this question.

I would REALLY appreciate any help with this or example sites etc where this is possible!

Thanks again!

It sounds like you're planning on starting out as an affiliate and then transition into selling as a standard e-commerce site. Is that correct?

The amount of work and effort it would take to hash out your affiliate plan would probably be either the same amount or even MORE work than if you just started out as a standard e-commerce site.

Find suppliers (manufacturers and distributors), get an account setup with them and then sell their products on your site.

Don't try to reinvent the wheel.

      Thanks for the reply,

Currently i feel like going down an affiliate route will be the best option for me as i want small business as a side product to run along with my actual job..

I believe i may be able to make a good and well used site in my niche as there isn't many other competitors.

I just want to know whether its possible to sell affiliated products through a website which to the customer looks and feels no different to a normal ecommerce site, being able to select what they want and go through a checkout process in one go with multiple items rather then keep going back and forth each retailers site?

    Hey buddy,

    You can check out cj.com.

I think that should give you idea about affiliates ideas.

Only solution that comes in my mind now is that you setup an Ecommerce site, list all products from different suppliers and accept payment on their behalf & then later on using your own affiliate url you buy respective prodcuts and ship to your customers.

I would suggest becoming an ebay affiliate and then making a blog concerning the items you are interested in selling. I am learning too, but word press is easy to do and really the only issue is getting people to come to your site by picking the right key words and promoting your site. Good luck.

      Thanks for the replies..

Im gradually learning that its not possible to have the items go to your cart and handle it that way, im still looking though

Ive thought about possible dropshipping some of the items i can not get an affiliate program for, but then thats another whole bunch of problems finding a supplier and making any money from.

I have recently bought the domain names i want so ill get starting making a website tonight on prestashop!

      Thanks again

Hi , PrestaShop is a good choice made by you. Anyone can handle dropshipper easily with PrestaShop, as you can easily map and manage - products, suppliers and shipping carriers .

You want a hybrid affiliate & ecommerce store - yes it's possible but not the way you want to do it - effectively it is dropshipping with a twist.

Perhaps add target="blank" code to your affiliate links.

I know it's not the same as what you asked and it won't work if you're selling from multiple places, but at least they will still be on your site + have the other one open.

If you found out what products people bought together I'm sure you could get someone to write you some fancy code that brought them up on display when someone clicked a 'buy now' button on your site, but that sounds like something for down the road.

Weird, I didn't mention the nofollow part. It must have came up automatically when I mentioned 'blank'.
