Been selling a dietary supplement online for the lat 5 months because I saw a need in a specific niche. I have been selling B2B 100x better than I sell direct to consumer. People have contacted me saying how excited they are about the product but nobody opens their wallet. People emailing saying "thank you so much for inventing this product"... even a well known activist in the niche has praised our product.

Other vendors who sell my product convert at about 3% consistently. For some reason my traffic converts at .23% and getting worse no matter what I do or how targeted my traffic.

I have played around with price, split tested up the wazoo, social media, landing pages, shopping carts, buttons, offers traffic sources, etc. Doesnt matter my product does not convert on my own website. I had to open an affiliate program out of all the requests I was getting from various websites. I did but soon after they start promoting our product they end up leaving as again, no conversions. They are all excited about the idea beg me to let them promote the product but no sales.

Any suggestions on why my b2c efforts do not convert? Please help as I sincerely appreciate your thoughts.

I'm guessing one of two things:

Your copy is too weak and even the headline doesn't make me want to keep reading.

Your trying to target everyone when they could go out and buy a product for their specific problem.

You could always test the copy first without targeting anyone in particular, then start targeting specific people with a certain problem.

You could even have a different sales page for your most likely buyers if you wanted to.

Your landing page is too long to be read for a quick visit. Just my opinion. But you have a cool and nice-looking website.

    Sincerely appreciate the feedback...

Any ideas or recommendations of someone I can contact for help with the landing page(s)? I just can't seem to get the copy right as its either too wordy or my USP sucks.

I tried to make the landing page longer to include any information such as reviews, ingredients, etc

I even have a whiteboard video I had made and used that video only as the lander but the bounce rate was over 91% and barely anyone even bothered to watch the video.

    here's the video -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xbE34weJBzk

    Purely from a design perspective:

On the landing page, I'd consider working with your copy a bit more. And when I say that, what I mean is, "doing very little, but doing something that will make your site look a lot more modern and classy."

If you simply arrange your text a bit better and use some more attractive fonts, you can seriously bump up the way your site looks and converts. The system-standard Arial that you're using looks dated and pixelated.

I'd suggest going with something like Robot, Open Sans, or Droid Sans - all Google Fonts that you can download for free.

It might also not hurt to spend a weekend developing some loose-ish brand guidelines for your site. You've already got a logo, which makes for a good starting point.

    On your main site?

At the top of your home page, you've got a lot of really prime real estate that's going to waste. All of that space to the left of the login prompt and social sharing buttons is just begging for a nav menu. Or for something that highlights your inventory in a way that really make the customer want to hit the "Buy" button.

Your site is off to a great start in terms of design - now you're just ready to fill in the finer details that will really help with conversion!

      Much appreciate the feedback...

I will be the first to admit I am horrible at copy no matter how many courses I take or people I try to model after. I research and develop, I am not a marketer..LOL

email me at: support @ chemdefense with any questions about our affiliate program. I like to help our affiliates as much as I can. Making your own website is fine as long as you dont spam anyone we dont care what you do honestly.

      thanks again!

Here are just to examples of long sales copies that I know are doing very well so I dont see how mine is any worse.

I think one of the biggest problems is your proposition. How many people actually need your product? If they were that bothered they would live elsewhere right? What about aiming at a different audience, with another use for the product in mind, that could still benefit them from using it - along the lines of:

        - people looking for a detox after a night out or heavy drinking/drug use
        - people living in hard water areas where the water might be full of chemicals
        - people looking to improve their immune system after ill health etc etc

    Hey there,

Matte makes a good point. He's getting specific and personal about the product, which is what you need.

    1) At a glance, the home banner image makes your product look like it's a chemical you can spread on the lawn? To stop bugs? It is not bleeding-obvious that this is something to be ingested that protects you from a nasty, polluted, city environment.

It would be more obvious if your text was specific too.

    2) Your USP needs to focus on curiosity and the effect on me personally. Get specific. Get personal.

Is your daily routine damaging your health?
Protect yourself from damaging air-borne toxins with Envioshield capsules.

Optimizely is a good tool for testing which banner image/text will increase engagement (people staying on the home page).

Or it can be easy enough to just use Google Experiments.

    3) I am more impressed by the list of ingredients than the odd-looking human body image with labels on it. You're focusing on the negatives? But perhaps you could focus on the lovely ingredients? They look fresh and interesting. They look healthy!

    4) Also, your images of people on the home page look fake? They look like stock photos, not real people. And combined with a 'pill you can pop' this doesn't scream trust.

Perhaps show the home page to people in the real-world (e.g. your neighbours, friends, family) and ask them for comment too.

You need to give people a reason to buy from you, and create trust.

    All the best,
    Katrina

The bottle has an aeroplane with red stop sign. It looks like a bottle of motor oil or pesticide to me .. no offence. Why not change the bottle to more natural and healthy looking cover ?

Also on main page , people has to click on the banner of old people to read reviews..which I guess , not much people click. Why not put some of the testmonials directly visible without the need to click ? And maybe read more for the full version of testmonials.

With tha being said..I think you should sell something that fixes a specific problem. You are trying to fix too many problems at same time. You say your pills help lose weight. Do you think people trying to lose weight will pick your product over 1000's of other products ?

    Yeah

I have had a look at your website and it fails all the initial copy tests.

First a top tip for you

    1. Most people don't buy prevention, they'd rather buy cures or remedies, outcomes, solutions to specific problems, etc.

So you have to position your product as a solution to a specific problem, also state quite clearly what benefits they will get when they buy your products.

Second, your copy has to answer the following questions quickly:
    • What is it ?
    • Who it is for ?
    • What benefits it will deliver (what it will do for them)
    • Show prove that it works, reason to believe you
    • If possible make them an offer
    • Then, tell them what to do next and why they should do it now.

    Good luck

much appreciate all the suggestions... does anyone have someone they would recommend I could hire to redo both the copy and the images? Maybe make a couple landing pages down the road?

    Thanks!

I'd be happy to help set up something with you, but you'll need to really focus in on the target market in order to get a compelling copy completed.

      For example: Overweight Women
Learn why all your dieting efforts are being foiled, and it's not your fault!

      For example: Pregnant Women
How a Simple Solution can keep you and your baby free from ____ toxins!

      (etc.)

What it looks like from a third party standpoint is that you may not be targeting the right market, and if you are, you need to fine-tune every marketing effort to maximize it's exposure.

youre right and I agree 100%, problem is my marketing plan took a detour from my original plan.

Was originally meant to combat "environmental toxicity" symptoms - I noticed a trend from all these major news websites posting articles about how the environment it toxic to you... then I launched and people who believed in chemtrails, weather modification and geoengineering started ordering the product in droves. As a result I tried to go after than market and people were emailing us saying how much they loved our product. Problem is nobody wanted to spend any money, our conversions were horrid, I changed the website a million times and totally got off track.

Now the website is just floating adrift in the middle of the pacific ocean..LOL

        Much appreciate the help!

I don't understand. At first they started buying in droves and then they stopped?

This is a pretty critical point. Can you elaborate on that?

Overall, it's ok. I have some suggestions for areas of improvement.

Cleaner design and layout overall. You could plan your homepage on paper first. Have a look at other sites you like including competitors.

Product info, benefits, what your customers say could be included on the homepage using bullet points to highlight key info.

I like the 4 tiered plan content so would keep this content and possibly shorten the copy.

    Good luck.
