Cannot signup for Amazon Seller Account

Hi warriorforum community,

I've been lurking around for quite a while but, today I decided to create an account and ask for your help.

I wanted to start a selling on Amazon US, using the FBA method. I am not located in US, but in EU. I had everything researched and fixed (created Payoneer account with CC and US bank account, obtained EIN number for tax withhold, found wholesaler in US, learned lots of things on how to rank and promote your product listing on amazon etc). One more thing was missing: the amazon seller account.

When trying to setup the seller account (I opted for Professional account), I noticed that my country is not on the accepted countries list (here). Tried to talk with support but they just re-confirmed me that I cannot create a seller account on Amazon, because my country is not accepted (although it is part of European Union).

In this moment, I think I have only two options left:

1. Start a company in a neighbor country, which is mentioned on the a/m list, so it's accepted by Amazon. Create the account by using this business. This means a lot of bureaucracy in the neighbor country and that's not easy because I don't speak their language. Also it involves quite a lot of money because I will have to get a lawyer in this country which could be able to represent me in front of their authorities. It also means getting a new EIN, a new Payoneer card and bank account (I don't even know if I can create a business Payoneer account???)=> a lot of wasted time and money.

2. Register on Amazon Sellers Central with my own name by using a US rented address and US phone number. I already have US bank account so this is going to be easier. But, I will have to fill in the W8 BEN form, stating that I am not located in US, but in my country (which is not accepted by Amazon) so that the tax withhold wouldn't be applied in my case. That's because I will already pay taxes in my country. Will I get in troubles if I use this option?

If you have any other idea/ workaround, please let me know. I will owe you big time.

Thank you very much for taking the time to read my quite long first post.

UK companies are the quickest, cheapest and easiest to setup, if you need a referral for a registration company let us know. Otherwise you can go the Delaware route but UK is probably easier for you - again can recommend a company. Bank accounts are always a pain but worry about that later!

I cannot offer any suggestions about the country issue you are dealing with but I would suggest that you do NOT start out as a professional seller but simply start out with a basic account.

You can always upgrade to a professional account later. This will probably save you some money until your sales volume increases enough to justify the expense of the Pro account.

I'm sorry to hear about your problem. I would agree with the earlier post, though. Why not try to start with a basic account first and just upgrade later?
