Aweber personalization when field is blank

EMAIL MARKETING

Hey guys, does anyone know how to deal with the situation when you want to use personalization {!first_name} but the field is blank with some users.

Hey {!first_name}, read this e-mail

Won't this show up as: Hey , read this e-mail

What do I do cause some of my subs entered their name but others don't enter it since it's not required.

There should be a place in the set-up where you can enter a default value to be used when the database has a blank entry. Most will use "friend" or "subscriber" or similar as the default value.

I don't know about Aweber but Getresponse uses "Friend"

It's a good thing to test it out yourself and see how it works.

As far as I am concerned if you start using [Name] field and you don't have their name.

What's going to happen is they may end up getting the default "Hey [Name]".

I know I've gotten a few emails from people before that says that.
