Getresponse e-mails & Spam

Hey Guys,

I am new to Getresponse. I sent out an e-mail newsletter at 7:00 and many did not receive it. It ended up going into SPAM.

How do we avoid this? If it goes to SPAM it might as well not have been sent at all.

Whats the email address your using? From what ive heard, any emails with support@domain.com or admin@domain.com have a possibility of going into the spam folder. I've also heard gmail or yahoo accounts have a chance to end up there as well.

Before you send an email, check its SPAM score. If it is high then you want to change the headline or a few things inside your email.

You can also ask your subscribers, after they join your list, to put your email on their SAFE LIST.

The headline says "introducing www.domain.com" and the e-mail has links within to social media. That's it. These are contacts that I know personally. Which is even stranger...

Consider changing the headline. To me, it looks a spam, no offense. Change the heading to something informative rather promotional.

I was in touch with Getresponse, they said people may have it in their SPAM box. Which sucks because these are over 100 personal contacts and only 18 opened the dang e-mail. Well, those who are n00bs, this is a good free lesson on what NOT TO DO when you start e-mail marketing with Getresponse.

i would say the same, change the headline. And also if you are certain it is going into spam, ask them to check and mark as not spam

Yes - this is what Anthony from Getresponse told me. Seems like the same guy is always answering live chat. They have instant response which is pretty good (chat) but I'm really disappointed I lost all of these e-mails today. We have a fantastic product (500 page book about football history)

Why don't you resend the email to your list? Change the headline and you could even say to ignore the last email (for the folks who got it) because of an error that occurred during sending.

An open rate of even 25% of those who have white-listed your e-mail is usually considerered acceptable. How are you getting this onto your list. The best method of getting them to white-list your email is to entire them at the time they optin / see the tripwire etc. Also, make sure you're not using a free account like gmail etc (and if your using GetResponse you wouldn't be). Have you thought about retargeting, depending on the specifics of your situation this may prove very useful.

The e-mails have been gradually opening as the day progressed but still about 40 haven't been opened/delivered. 9 have bounced. Many people have GMAIL, some Verizon, Comcast, Me.com, and site names.

Curious - does it make a difference if I individually type in their e-mails through the website opt-in box? I am actually using Optimize Press API link/plugin as the opt in box because I didn't like the get response templates. Optimize press has better layouts.

I don't generally like re-sending, but if Anthony from GR said that, I'd honestly re-send it with a different title.

      Not by me, it's not.

If three-quarters of my own subscribers weren't even willing and able to open an email from me, I'd probably just call it a day with internet marketing and open a shoe-shop instead: Sick of Emails Not Being Opened?

If you're using a personal email address, you're better off.

On the flip side if you must use a domain email address, use a name like mark@example.com, also check to see if your domain is flagged.

    Cheers,
    Mark
