Hello ,

Here is a quick one. How can I increase the sign-up rate on my e-newsletter subscription page? What are some of the best methods? I have found some success with the following.

1. Pop ups has shown (an averege overlay) some extra success in opt-ins. Here are a few services for over lays pop updomination, hybridconnect, padiact, pippity, wpsubsc ribers.

2. Using new technology "Bounce exchange" has proven lead increase but is pricey.

Give your visitors a good reason for them to give you their email address. Signing up to a e-newsletter subscription doesn't sound too enticing

Give them an incentive. Perhaps write a really useful post, and add the subscription box next to it. People may want to subscribe if they really like your post. Holiday season is here, so use that to attract customers. I don't know what kind of page you run, but I am sure you could find some bonus for customers that they could use in the holiday season!

    Buy a PLR ebook

Offer them an instant ebook download

Once they subscribe to your list, redirect them to a thank you page that has on the top of the page "thank you for joining my list. check your email to download your free course"

below this statement you could have other affiliate products.

You have a happy new subscriber.

they could close the page to check their email for the ebook or they could check out some of your offers and check their email a little later

either way you have a new subscriber and maybe a new affiliate sale

The ideal situation would be that you share a link to it ... so we can make comments based on the real thing. Without that context, there's no way to narrow down the thousands of possible suggestions (some of which would be relevant, and many of which would not be). And I'd prefer not to be offering advice to you without understanding your needs more clearly ... so I can better help you overcome your challenges ... and be sure that the advice I do offer is both relevant and powerful for you.

Could you share a link to it perhaps?

  • Incentives are always a good reason. Most people don't like to sign up for many types of newsletters for the fear of being spammed mad. What does your blog or business do and how can you incentivize the viewers to want to learn more all the time?

    Yes, popups are great

However you don't need to use Bounce Exchange if you aren't really making a lot of money since it is, like you said, a bit pricey.

Also, having few opt-in forms instead of just a popup is also good idea. I know from my own experience, slide in forms (scroll triggered) work very well too.

No kidding but old fashioned still works.

Offer something people really want. Usually you have to do some work to find this out like at the forums or if you have a list 'ask' people what they need help with.

Other bits and pieces can increase your opt ins like targeted traffic but I still think the actual offer itself matters most.

      Cheerio

Provide a valuable incentive as mentioned above and ask ONLY for their email address.
You don't have to ask for the name at this point. When they become customers then
    you get their full names.

I must say every one of the answers are magnificent! You all stone. I will continue hitting the planning phase and think of something . Much obliged to all of you again for kicking off my mind.

Give your guests a justifiable reason purpose behind them to give you their email address. Joining to an e-pamphlet membership doesn't sound excessively luring.

Quite a few tests show that the best opt in rates get freebies that are:

    1. Quick and easy to consume and
    2. Quick and easy to implement and deliver immediate results

The 197 page ebook isn´t doing as well as the 2 page checklist or the “One Technique” that could be immediately implemented and that generates results.

    So, here are some ideas:

    Ebook/Report

    Cheat Sheet/Handout

    Toolkit/Resource List

    Video Training

    Software Download/Free Trial

    Discount/Free Shipping

    Quiz/Survey

    Assessment/Test

    Blind/Sales Material

    Hope this helps!
