Sales funnel. free offer or straight to paid offer?

Hello,

Looking at different sales funnels, wanted to get some opinions.

Squeeze page - free offer - emails

Offering something for free may get more customers to build a good relationship and sell a product to build a buyers list.

Squeeze page - paid offer - emails

What about linking straight to a paid offer instead of offering something for free, it would be more reluctant for people to opt in, but it would save time and money on cutting out potential customers and only focus on customers only.

Any thoughts about this?

Sounds to me like the same issue as with double-optin vs single...

On the free offer, you'll get EVERYONE who would have paid, but you'll also get others who will pay in the future.

On the paid offer, you only get those willing to pay right away, and lose everyone else.

The correct solution is to offer something free, get them on your list, then upsell them.

Naturally, that's merely my opinion ... take it for whatever it's worth.

    Try this:

Squeeze Page - Free Offer - Redirect to a $1 Offer - More Upsells - Emails

    Good luck

Unless you have a lot of affiliates promoting for you, it's always best to capture people's email address.

Make sure to create a cheap front-end offer so you can get as many buyers on your list as possible. What Art mentioned to create a $1 downsell is a great technique to achieve this. So you could for instance charge $9,95 on the front-end and downsell for $1.

Building a buyers list will allow you to make a lot more sales in the backend.

    Squeeze ==> Offer ==> Email

I'd recommend sending them to something paid.

Up to you though, answer is also greatly dependent on the traffic source

    Squeeze page > $10 product w/ $1 downsell > $47 Main product w/ $27 downsell > $97 upsell w/ $47

    downsell > $997 High Ticket [Done 4-U product] w/ $297 downsell.

Now that, that is a sales funnel
