Oh...no...this not good news for people like me who just about to start to build a list. Are you noticing this trend from your own experience and in which niche?

is recently I just notice but ..perhaps I post in social medias ...

I do get few new lists..well some days don't

personally for me....I think like a buyer point of view...

even is free or trail ...etc ..the seller will ask for your email input in order to get it...

well I should be think should i or not....if Yes just simple I curious ..( this is what most of use want to make buyer feel curious ) than I put my email...as I say ...now multi emails can be easily created...they can just input a 2nd email which not their personal email...and get that free stuff...

so my point here is ....follow up emails to them will be ??? since that email is their 2nd email which they hardly use or read....

because I also collecting list...I noticed .....a lot are using "fake email "

With aWeber you've got a tool that you can use so people can just click to optin with their real facebook email and full name + any drop down or custom fields. Made my optin rate go from below 5% to above 40%

The best way that I have found to get people to use their real email addresses is to send them to a thank you page after they opt in instead of sending them directly to the freebie you are offering. Let them know that you will be sending the link to the freebie to their email address. This also gives you a place to monetize these people by adding an offer to a paid product on your thank you page.

      This.

      And just to add...

Think about something with me. If I package a method, for instance, that can earn you $10K a month, and you're 100% confident that it works, which email will you use:

      1. Your everyday email?
      2. The email you rarely even check?

      (1), right?

      You have to:

      A. Offer subscribers an amazing product.
      B. Ensure they believe you.

Where you get your traffic from really doesn't matter. I move high volumes of traffic. If a platform exists that can send me traffic, I want that traffic. Some sources are better than others, of course, but you really shouldn't over-think that aspect. I've made great money from the most surprising traffic sources.

Some people have spam/backup email addresses for forms like that, especially if your lead gen page looks spammy. It's to be expected. Don't worry too much about it though, as many people will still enter a good contact address if your product really appeals to them. List building still works, so don't panic.

      This, too.

It's a credibility issue. (Just like so many other aspects of email marketing.)

This is a problem for people with spammy-looking/scammy-looking/suspicious-looking squeeze pages.

(It's much less of a problem, by the way, for people who use other types of opt-in pages rather than squeeze pages.)

Yes! I have also noticed the same. Most of people doesn't want to subscribe to email list. But it will not happens always. There are some of the potential buyers out their who are willing to get new stuffs daily.

I don't give my name and other info anymore but I still will put my email address if I am interested in learning more about what they are promoting. If they insist on more than just my email address, I click out. So I am suggesting not to make it mandatory for them to put their name and other info b4 getting your freebie or info. Just ask for the email address so they can still feel that they are pretty anonymous.

That sounds silly to me, since you can put any name you want to and it's not tracable anyway.

        Hey Warren,
No time no see. Did not realize you came here.

Always saw you at FC Forums.

        Good to see you/

To OP, make sure in your Sq. Page or Optin to let prospect know they will be getting their Free Gift delivered straight to their Inbox. You need to tell them that this is the only way to get it with a valid email address

If they don't even trust you and your page to give away his real email, how are they going to trust your offers and go ahead and buy what you tell them to?

I (and many people) do that myself: If I don't trust the website/author I use an email for that specific purposes, I never check it and it's full of unopened spam. I just want the access/PDF/whatever
If I trust him, I give an email that I check once in a while. Put I will probably not buy anything from him aswell, or listen to what he periodically has to say.

If I really trust him, and I'm interested I what he could have to tell me, I give the email I check everyday.

I think the goal should be to aim at that last situation.
You can force it, of course, but I will probably not lead to any sell.

I have found the same problem. Now, most of the people are using more than two emails IDs. One is for their friends and family and another one for their usual purpose. Normally people are using alternative email Id to sing up on any offer or program.

I guess people just take harder to get convinced now. As a buyer, I won't just share my email address with anyone just because they're giving me a book for free. I want you to convince me that the thing I am getting is something useful, and I need it.

That's my perspective from the shoes of a buyer

Is your gift valuable enough for people to want to enter their real email?

Do you give them the freebie right away or do you email it to them?

    Something to think about...
