(i) Is email marketing good for physical products?

(ii) What should be the minimum price level for products for email marketing. In my niche the products are small price products (10-15 $). Considering shipping cost involved do you think it is a good idea to do email marketing for such products?

Yes, you can do email marketing for physical products. It doesn't cost a lot of money to do email marketing so low profit margins isn't an issue.

I would probably stick to digital products.

I sold my biz with physical products for this reason specifically

I think emails are great for physical products. Before email became a big thing in internet marketing companies like Amazon and Walmart was sending out daily specials or top search items through email marketing to increase sales.

It works better especially if you build a relationship with ur list as it benefits you on a long-term approach

In my opinion email marketing isn't necessarily about the 'selling' part of the equation. It's about building relationships and trust - and with relationships and trust you can sell anything - physical, or otherwise.

You seem to be talking about specific products, but by building an email list you can actually branch out - the value is in the list and the trust and relationships you build, and you need to look at it from a longer terms perspective.

From a purely business perspective if selling the product for the price you need + shipping prices it out of the market, then it's probably not something that you should be offering on a delivery (i.e. shipping) basis, but rather something to sell locally.

But the value in the list remains the trust and relationships.

      Hey rcvgn,
Not really sure there needs to be a minimum price ??

I think you are putting too much thought into this.

Obviously you do not want to be selling physical items of $1.

But $7 or more would be fine.

However, you should probably be thinking of Products that your Customer really wants whether that be $7 or $700.

We do not know your Customer so how can we give you advice on this ?????

Do research on it and take it from there.

Email marketing is good but would that be better if you could increase your sales?

Since you are familiar with email marketing and the physical products you have been selling, is there any related stuffs, either physical or digital, you can promote to your existing lists? This could give you more sales and ROI (return on investment).

If you are successful doing so, you may move to other products for other segments as well. Just to change the goods but utilizing your similar knowledge and expertise.

Just an idea for you to consider.
