I'm not surprised you're confused: you've made a "category error".

Promoting CPA and doing email marketing are not directly comparable. They're not alternatives. You can do CPA with or without email marketing, and you can do email marketing with or without using CPA.

CPA email submit offers are a specific method of monetization - a "business model".

Email marketing is a relationship-building process for turning subscribers into customers.

i like cpa marketing the only issues is that some offers can stop without you being notified. Also, some of the advertising may scrub your leads.

Use both. Send CPA traffic to a landing page, then redirect to your offer.

Email marketing: you collect vistitor's emails and send offer to them later.
CPA marketing (emial submit): you send traffic to the offer, if them enter their email, then you are making money.
basically, you are building list for the CPA vender.

My first suggestion would be email marketing and then cpa marketing, but both are two different marketing methods.

Start with email marketing. Build a list. Market to that list using CPA. Do both.

    Why not both?

I mean, send traffic to your squeeze page AND pay your affiliates to send traffic
    to your squeeze page.

Nobody can answer you which is best, since it depends on your niche,
your ad campaign, your targets (and the list goes on)...

Test them both and keep the ones that cost less and makes you more profit.

We IMers make things harder than they are!

Do not over-complicate things, just split test and keep the winner

For me Email Marketing is also good because it's cheap. There are a lot of free SMTP servers that you can use to send your emails.

I'm using Email Marketing 24/7 that supports multiple SMTP servers, so I can use up to 4 free SMTP servers for sending my emails. I've sent out around one million emails so far without spend any money
That app also supports email tracking, it's around 10% open, that's great for me so far.

I prefer email marketing. What's to stop you from promoting CPA offers to that list?

If you do CPA marketing by itself you are losing out on sales down the road. I myself absolutely email marketing because I get to talk to like-minded people on a daily basis. It makes this business a lot more interesting. I feel that CPA wouldn't quite do that. That is just my opinion.

CPA marketing is better. Just look at where are you going to put it. Place ads in a credible, high-trafficked site and go with it.

but sometimes, doing the same can do more. Why not doing email first before doing CPA; or doing it simultaneously?

you can do both, they can be complementary to each other. Personally I would like to build my list first, and then start CPA, but it's all on opinion. It works either way.

I was in the same boat as you back in April this year having to decide over which one of the two I should go for.

I wanted to learn about Paid Advertising using PPC & PPV and thought CPA Marketing would be good to try out. That way I could test PPC & PPV traffic with CPA Offers.

I tried CPA for several months and got a few conversions. I learnt quite a bit about tracking using Prosper and how to use sub-ids.

But like what eaw44f mentioned above I got annoyed with how quickly offers can come and go on networks like MaxBounty and Peerfly. The only conversions I got was from Peerfly Offers for some reason. Got no luck whatsoever from MaxBounty. Not one bloody conversion lol. Another thing which I didn't understand is why these big CPA networks didn't allow the use of Email Marketing to promote their offers. All the best offers didn't allow the use of Email to promote them.

After 6 months of losing lots of money and not really getting anywhere I decided to go down the Email Marketing route. For me personally I find it far more enjoyable, especially as you can both create and promote products. Plus like others mentioned as well you can send more offers to people overtime by building trust with your subscribers.

Email Marketing gives you more options to get a sale from a visitor than CPA in my opinion. Plus usually from what I find people don't tend to buy something at first. That's where Email really helps, as you have more than one time to promote an offer to a person.

Both are good depending on what type of marketing you are into. If you want something quick and easier to setup then CPA might be for you. Downside is that you're probably going to rely on paid traffic sources which is going to burn a hole in your wallet at first until you find a landing page that works well with your offer. You also have to accept that offers come and go and don't tend to last long.

Email allows you to build something of value such as your own product and the ability to market to those same people again and again. If you like copywriting then this might be for you. But downside is it takes time to build your list and maybe to even decide on what niche you want to build your product or list in.

Whatever you decide try to find out the pros and cons to each. For me I wish I started with Email Marketing in the beginning. Maybe it's because I sucked at CPA

I don't understand why to put such question - you can use both strategies and get excellent results.
The main thing is to do it right.
