Just wanted to find out if you know of anyone who builds their list via co-reg leads? Need to talk to them about some stuff.

I tried building a list of co reg leads using Getresponse's service which ran for a good few years but was pulled earlier this year for some reason. From what I can gather it had become a lot tougher to build a quality list than it was to begin with (which is what I also found). Sign ups were very slow, plus opens and clicks were not good either.

I also tried Lewis Howes co reg lead generation service which was also very poor, and also seems to have been closed now, as I can't find it in Google anywhere.

I know that some of the reputable services don't permit this. If your list is too similar to the list of another client of theirs, they'll presume that it's a case of co-reg, and they'll suspend your account.

This isn't to say that it's the case across the board, but I know from personal experience that lists appearing too similar to the lists of others within their platform will cause them to at least suspect co-reg.

Ultimately, as far as I'm concerned, co-reg isn't a good long-term strategy for building an email list anyway. It's far too easy for the subscribers to become inundated with emails and to become unresponsive very quickly.

Co-reg can and does work. You can acquire huge amounts of data for cheap.

You will need your own server(s), mail software and large amount of IPs that you can optionally replace monthly. IPs can become blocked, blacklisted, sbl'd. Delivery sucks, you will be in junk folder for the most part.

You will want to use a service like impressionwise.com to clean your data known complainers, traps, etc... before you send.

You want to send offers that have mass appeal and pull the openers/clickers.

Response rates are poor, so it's about sending huge volume.

Then you can start using squeeze pages to build optins and using smtp's that will inbox.

It's not something most will ever do and it's not cheap. It takes money to make money!
But it hands down works and works well.
