Your Opinion Wanted: What is the Fastest AND Most Effective Way to Build A List?

Hey David,
A lot of people swear by Solo Ads. I do them.

While others swear by Ad Swaps. I do not nor intend to do them.

Paid Adverting is good. Bing is really one of the best Value PPC players from my own experience.

Thank you. I didn't realize you could use bing to build a list.

I think google gets mad when you use your adwords account for that.

I didn't know that Bing would allow it.

Fastest way to build a list is using paid traffic methods. In the Im niche I would say using solo ads and doing ad swaps will build you a list quickly. Bing will also get you some really good targeted traffic.

Most likely Facebook ads for the most targeted and pretty quality subscribers

or

Solo ads if you want fast/easy subscribers which isn't a bad option at all if they immediately optin and are taken straight to a sales page for a low-cost product $10 (or under) to convert them into buyers.

then the one's that purchase are taken to 1-2 more up-sells including your core product]
This is how you create a funnel that immediately turns your list into a more valuable asset

and especially, allows you to turn a profit immediately after they optin which means, in turn, you
can re-invest that cash into more solo ads right away.

or

Guest blogging if you have actual value to add to a blog site with new information that isn't readily available to the public, you will have bloggers lining up to take you on as a guest and at the end of the article you can leave a link to your squeeze page to get very high quality subscribers

What others have said, solo ads and bing are very good ways to build a list and get targeted traffic.
Oh, Facebook is also VERY great and can be highly targeted, for cheap.

I would add that you should research how to get the maximum results out of those methods. For example, using clickbanking. This is when someone is sent to a page after opting in with links to other marketers squeeze pages. This allows you to not only get a new subscriber on your list but send clicks to other marketers (which they will return the favor). You establish this ahead of time, for example agreeing to send 100 clicks to someone in return for sending you 100 clicks. This allows you to get more for you money. If you buy a 100 click solo and 40 people optin, and 20 people click the other marketers link you just got yourself an additional 20 clicks for your money. Hopefully this makes sense, look up clickbanking for more details.

Yeah, this is a good technique and you can build your list for free..

Other than solo ads, you may want to go for funnel clicks for paid traffic. You will build your list slower but I've got good results and more responsive subscribers from it.

In IM niche there is no better, cheaper, faster, and more effective method to build a responsive email list than solo ads.
You can also use some clickbanks techniques and build your list in fact for free...
In period of 2 - 3 months you can easily build a list of 10K subscribers with this method...

Paid advertising hands down... Solo ads are the quickest and easiest way to get built up fast because you pay for guaranteed number of clicks, with the other paid traffic options it will take some time and testing to figure out what works best.

  Nothing's going to be faster than PPC advertising, probably: you can get your first subscribers within 10 minutes, using that. It's not going to be easy to beat that, for speed? Of course it's a big learning-curve, takes some starting-capital, and isn't suitable for everyone.
  
  But in general, the "fastest" ways and the "most effective ways" are going to be very different ways, and of course there are good and valid reasons for that.
  
  All that really matters, with list-building, is quality-based. Speed and subscriber-numbers are usually a very poor focus of attention.
  
  Smaller lists can often be far more profitable than larger lists.
