Whats the 1 Thing That You HATE about your Email Autoresponder Service?

Hey Guys and Gals,

There is some great tips and advice in this forum about email marketing
but what is the number 1 thing you hate about your email marketing service.

I for one hate that a lot of the layouts are not simple / intuitive they should
make it a little easier to get around.

The biggest thing i think you will find is how easily and fast some of these companies ban your account. And without warning or helpful hints along the way. It can sure make a mess of things.

Yes that's definately something a lot of people are experiencing lately. That's why it's always good to backup your lists.

That being said, i think the most annoying thing is deliverability, and emails going to spam. There are a lot of things you can do about that yourself though, but sometimes it's not your fault...

I had Aweber, and I HATED how they forced you to do double opt ins. I mean, double opt-ins are great, BUT it's like... HEY, I'm the one PAYING YOU. Who the *bleep* do you think you are TELLING ME I HAVE to do double opt-ins?

    Cerealy.

That's an advantage, not a disadvantage: they do that as a response to spam complaints, to protect all their other customers. The faster and stricter they are to ban the accounts of people whose emailing incurs enough spam complaints to be worrying, the happier I am to be their customer, because that's how they maintain their high delivery-rates to my subscribers' in-boxes.

They offer a choice. Like countless others here, I have many single opt-in lists there.

We pay to get our emails delivered to the recipients inbox and if it's constantly going to spam folder then theres no need to pay for such a service.

I hate their automatic algorithm that classified your email as junk and then ban your account.
When you submit for appeal they don't reply you at all.

Hey there Cam Connor. Just so you know, you can turn off the double opt-in feature within Aweber's list options section. It is a simple as clicking off. then it is all single opt-ins from there on out.

They gradually try to become owners of your email list and as a result, they force you to use exactly the methods/tools/... they provide. For example, they still force you to use an html interface instead of a fast and robust desktop interface.

I'd much prefer total transparency, including direct access to the databases (via odbc for example). They should limit their service to executing your orders.

    No complaints whatsoever.

Aweber and GetResponse are both awesome...

Which is why I choose both of them over all of the others
