tons of data... now what?

i am looking to monetize on the existing data that i have acquired over the last several months... i have an existing client database of 2,500 active clients. i have also obtained about 137k (more on the way) email addresses from the 700k database i recently purchased. most of that data contains only phone numbers to which i stick into a dialer and have my sales guys follow up on the inquiries that were made.

couple weeks ago i decide to enlist in the services of mailchimp to begin marketing to the list of emails i have.... well needless to say that got shut down real quick (literally after the 1st email went out). had i found this site i wouldn't have wasted my time with those bums but whatever.

I need to maximize my approach and learn to email blast the data i have along with cross sell the existing clientele. the phone takes to much time and not enough ROI. so my questions are...

-how can i maximize the response with the emails lists i currently have?

-will Aweber, getresponse, and icontact be more of the same with mailchimp?

-should i host my own email server?

about me..... i am partnered in a company that operates within the debt industry (hence the name), my main functions are sales operations. I no longer see the value of wasting thousands a month on lead guys who bullshit me constantly when i now have the time to do this on my own, however, not all the working knowledge

from browsing the site for some time i see there are many knowledgeable users out there. any and all input would be greatly appreciated.

  • None of those services will allow you to import email addresses and use their service.

If you host your own A/R, you will probably run into an issue with your host, they typically do not like their clients sending bulk email.

Perhaps what might help you is a bulk email provider. There are tons of these online that you can pay to email lists like you have.

  • You can always use your own batch sending application that uses your own smtp connection to whatever domain host you have. Of course most domain hosts will have their own email policy too. Pretty typical to have a limit of 5000 emails per day and 1000 per hour per domain.

    • thanks james.... gmail hosts our email service. I've been able to email large number of recipients, just not on the scale i am looking for.... is there a mass text messaging software or bulk email services you (or anyone) could recommend to drive traffic to my site or squeeze page (i'm building) to have ppl opt in?
