No. The only way you can sell them is if when they signed up they clicked a check box agreeing that they could be contacted with third party offers and services. If not then you may be breaking the law. However if you sold tge website and business with which you collected tge data then the new owner will have purchased the data and that may therefore be permissible but get some legal advice.

Best to sell soloads in my opinion.

I agree with the previous comment. You must have permission from the subscriber, otherwise there are legal implications that could arise.

If the subscribers have knowingly given permission for that, at the time of their opting in, then the answer's usually "yes".

Apart from that, it's "legally complicated" and varies from country to country. In most countries, though, the answer's a fairly plain "no", because even if not actually breaking the law yourself, in doing so, you'd perhaps be aiding and abetting someone else (the buyer) in doing so. It would certainly be both unethical and immoral, though, quite apart from the legal considerations. As well as unwise for a number of other, practical, reasons.

So the short answer's "no", really.

(And they're pretty unlikely to be worth anything much to a subsequent third-party buyer, anyway: email marketing that works is permission-based.)

Let's throw another stone in the soup pot...

If you used one of those common "we promise to never sell, rent or share your info" statements on your opt-in, you may have established a contractual obligation totally apart form spam or privacy laws.

The subscriber gave you the permission to email them and not to sell their email to a third party... It's a NO NO

If you have not emailed them yet and built some relationship with them, they are going to forget who you are.

When you sell them to someone else, they will report the new list owner as a spammer.

You could create a new site which has a new terms of service. Why not use your list to market affiliate products in that niche? Just curious

Cold emails? Why bother collecting them in first place?

Did you tell them that you would sell their emails when you collected their emails? If your answer is no, then please don't sell the emails.

I know lots of people that sell emails like that, I personally would never buy it because my autoresponders might shut me down for buying a list, but I think that if you've got that list, why won't you market stuff to them? we're all here on warrior forum because we are marketers, go and send them some relative offers in your niche.

Is it about dating? go to clickbank .com and sign up as an affiliate and find dating offers there, is it IM? try sending them to WSO's, you should always be making off of your list, and not sell it.

You should not, especially if your site has collected these emails to be used for your website only. However, no one is stopping you from trying to sell. The question is if someone will buy them, considering that there might be legal obligations attached to them.
