Want $470 or $1,940? Convert them into Buyers

Hey y'all, just here to prove a quick but valuable point on,

"Low-cost entry points" or "converting freebie seekers into buyers"

I am aware most of you promote affiliate products instead of your own so I will
try to adjust my example towards that.

In my experience it is x1000 times better to sell a low-cost product
[perceived as little risk] to your list instead of a higher end product $50+
but instead sell a product that is $10 or less and lead to the higher end products.

So i'll kick you two scenarios,

Scenario #1:

1) You brought 1,000 unique visitors to your affiliate sales page.

2) The affiliate sales page converts at 1% @ a $47 product.

3) You receive 100% commission

4) Total revenue earned = $470

Scenario #2:

1) You brought 1,000 unique visitors to a low-cost product sales page

2) The $10 (or less) product converts at 10% [normal for a VSL page for low cost product]

3) 100 people bought the $10 product resulting in $1,000

4) 100 people are immediately shown an up-sell sales page which is your affiliate product

5) 20% purchase the up-sell which is $47

6) Total Revenue earned= $1,940

================================================== ==============

This can easily be done if you are mostly an affiliate too. Create a low-cost product based on the affiliate product you want to promote and create a small report or something that is related to the affiliate product and use that as the entry point to the affiliate product of your choosing.

Hopefully you all don't get too hung up on the numbers in the example I was just trying to portray how important it is to convert people into buyers FIRST then lead them into high end products.

PS- I would love to hear opinions on this subject if you have any.

PPS- The source for the 20% conversion on the up-sell is taken from my own data, frank kern's, and dan kennedy.
The source for the 10% conversion on the $10 product is taken from my data and Ryan Diess's

I think I would try it with my new website in 3 months - for now I am following my original plans.

It sounds like a good strategy on paper. But how would you make the initial 10% conversion? Because price isn't the real issue...

The 10% conversion is actually what I get on my $10 front end offer. Actually fluctuates depending on the source of traffic from 8%-12%.

Really just use a simple powerpoint VSL to achieve that.

It is also what many other major email marketers do to convert them into buyers and yes it actually is about the price in many ways because it is seen as little risk to the prospect as compared to a larger "investment" that many people try to push right away.

Also, if you want to look it up it is what many millionaire email marketers preach as one of the major steps in any funnel. Frank Kern and Ryan Diess call it the "trip wire"

I know on of Frank's "trip wires" converts at 16% for example.

So yes from my data and many others, 10% is definitely an achievable conversion rate.

PS- I also know another 7 figure email marketers on this forum that preaches this as well and does
a 10% CR on the "tripwire" as well.

PSS- If you need some more concrete evidence it can convert that high:
