Is is much more profitable to build a list of emails or to send visitors to a sales page to convert them right away?

    @Andrew,

    You post your question in the 'Email Marketing' that means you prefer to initially build a list. Its so hard to get sales if we drive our leads directly to the sales page.

    Everyone knows the power of email marketing. Try to build a good relationship to our subscribers, engage them by sending the valuable stuffs. Once they have trusted in us, we can drive them to any sales page whenever we want.

    Man... 3 words. Build A List. That's it. Where would companies be without a list of the customers? Drowning, because 100% of their efforts are going into finding new customers! Repeat customers are the base of my business and most businesses around.

    The good thing about this business is that "People don't succeed cause they aim too high and miss, no, they aim too low... and hit. Most people don't aim at all." (Les Brown)

    Not us... Not marketers. We live far above mediocrity. Always keep this in mind at all times..

    The only exception would be to set up a ppc campaign and bid on the the brand name, url, product name. In that case direct linking works perfectly.

        Hi Andrew,

        Your question can be rephrased as: Which is better, upfront profit or long term profit?

        If you're direct linking to a sales page, then your conversion will depend solely on the ONE moment a reader sees the sales page. You can make money from it, sure.

        But if you're building a list, you will have unlimited chances to PRESELL the product to your list, again and again.

        In the long run, you will be profiting much more with a list.

        Direct linking can make you money of course (depends on how you presell it) and works great when you're looking for FAST money. But when you're building a list, in the long run, your ROI will be much better with perpetual preselling.

        Hope that helps!
