Advice please. I created a website in the travel niche. It has about 5-6 pages, but no blog. I am wondering what to do next. I know I need to start promoting my website, but should I first create a squeeze page and product giveaway? Or, should I start a blog and/or just start promoting my website?

Also, if I do the squeeze page and product giveaway, any ideas on a giveaway? I am a little lost with what to giveaway. Does it have to be directly related to the type of travel website that I am promoting? My website is mostly based on last minute travel.

Any help is appreciated.

Give away a "New 2015 Report" of the top 10 vacation spots along with the top hotels for each spot. Valuable information plus you earn commission on each that signs up for a hotel.

When they sign up for this free report, I can then start sending them a weekly newsletter after I send them the free report, right? Currently, I just have them signing up for the weekly newsletter. It is a plugin on the side bar of my website.

The way I do it is to give exciting short article as a form of access/pdf in exchange of emails.
    People use free PLR too.

The more directly it's related to what you're promoting, the more likely you are to earn from the subsequent email series.

    It's about continuity.

Every "discontinuity" between (i) what brings traffic to your site, (ii) what they see when they get there, (iii) what's in the give-away incentive for the opt-in, (iv) what you send them after that, and (v) what you're promoting is an opportunity for potential income to slip away.

      Good Luck
Thank you for your response. I have a travel website, so should I giveaway a trip? That seems a bit expensive. But, if I did offer some sort of free trip, how would I give this away? Do you recommend any web service that I can use to do this?

    Hello Gabrielle,
You could just have a 'Alert' newsletter and have a Optin on side of blog telling visitors to sign up for your VIP List where all the best Travel packages and the lowest prices will be emailed to them periodically.

But tell them they will be joining this List and it is EXCLUSIVE to these VIP members and all the special prices etc..for them only

      Time for a little networking.

Just about any worthwhile destination will have a promotional budget, and one of the cheapest things they can do is give away trips. Think about it...

Hotels are almost never fully booked, regardless of what they tell you, and they always have times where rooms are unfilled. And an unfilled room is an income opportunity lost forever. Even if they give the room away for free, and throw in a couple of breakfast buffet vouchers, the cost is almost nil.

Try the marketing/promotion departments of the various cruise lines, too. You might be surprised by what you might get.

This is very helpful, and something that I haven't thought of. I will give it a shot and see what happens. Thank you!
