Can Marketing Automation ( Replace Traditional Email Marketing Platforms (GetResponse)?

I'm in the process of upgrading and integrating into a new email marketing platform. I'm looking to get the following out of my email marketing campaigns.

- drip (autoresponder) campaigns
- event based email campaigns
- targeted segmented email campaigns

I feel like email marketing platforms like GetResponse/Aweber with their batch and blast mentality are on the decline. This is why I'm thinking of integrating with a marketing automation platform like to get more targeted email campaigns sent to the right leads in my database.

Has anyone made the transition into using a service like to manage all you email marketing campaigns?

Thank you!

Email marketing as an industry will keep on growing.. also for services such as GetResponse or Mailchimp. However, the most sophisticated email marketers are moving to other services that allow them to target better and get better results based on what their subscribers do. Those people are using software such as InfusionSoft, Vero,, ActiveCampaign as well as other new services that are coming out.

But the biggest market will still be in the simpler newsletter services (Mailchimp, etc), since most businesses who use newsletters just need an easy way to communicate regularly with their customers and do not need the sophistication you can get from other platforms such as InfusionSoft.

I have not made the transition myself yet, but know some people who have done it to from Mailchimp to Vero and to InfusionSoft. They are really happy with the new things they can do.
