its like fishing you have to bait...(free ebook or something of value). Something to hold them in ...(auto responder). Then once they get hooked you have a machine that will extract money from that list. Dang am not so sure its a lot like fishing..lol. Anyways email marketing should be apart of every business. Its not only a way to make money form your clients but also educating them about what ever subject matter the list was made from. If you want to know more and talk about how you can rock with email marketing you can friend me on facebook and then we can talk about how we can get you started!

Depends on your marketing niche. Let's say you have a SEO business. Write a simple e-book on easy SEO methods. Ask your audience to provide their email addresses (by signing-up to your site) so you can mail the e-book to them. At the end of the day, they have received a free e-book and you have their e-mail addresses. Offering the free e-book on reputable forums is a good place to start.

I have used a lot of online services for email marketing: mailchimp, aweber ecc... But now i found a new service, acrivecampain, that is simply amazing. Active campain has available a lot of features and options to create a perfect email marketing campaign.

It's just like ChapLeo said "Depends on your marketing niche".
You have a few options when getting started in listbuilding either you start building a freebie list or a buyers list.

For a freebie list you generally want to create an ebook that you give a way for free in exchange for their email and then when they buy something from your followup emails you can move them to a buyers list. You can go paid traffic FB, Bing, Adwords or for free traffic such as Youtube, Pinterest, SEO and forum marketing.

For a buyers list you can create your own low price product, add it to the WSO section and once they purchase your product they will be signed up to your buyers list.

    Have a great day!

If you have a product you can offer for free at first then email marketing is good. Most people I know who does email marketing posts on forums and asks if there's someone interested then leave their email as a comment and they'll send the details after. I think that's a good way to start building an email list.

Well - there are a lot of variables you have when building your list?

    1. What kind of list do you want to build?
    - Buyers List
    - Biz Op List
    - Freebie Seekers

    2. Do you have you own product?
    3. Are you going to give somethings away for free?
    4. Do you have an affiliate product you can promote?

These are things you want to ask yourself because if you plan on paying for traffic - you want to make sure that you're getting some of that money back upon people signing up to your list. No one wants to just fork over money and get nothing back in return.

I don't know what your traffic method is - but here are my two suggestions to building high quality lists.

    1. Either create your own product or purchase some PLR and make that baby shine and sell it! You can sell on Warrior Forum, JVZoo, ClickBank etc. etc. You'll build a killer buyers list this way with results that'll blow you away.

    2. Create a squeeze page - have a small free offer (it can be as simple as a 2 page report) make the content worth reading. If you think it's garbage they will too - once they optin - shoot them over to either your own product or an affiliate product. This will help create sells, a relationship with your new customer and a buyers list.

Traffic - well that's a whole 'nother ball game. But - these two methods above will build you some high quality lists!

I like to build a list and start a relationship that will eventually lead to affiliate product sale.

Generally a squeeze page will have little in the way of content so using SEO to get a good ranking is not very feasible. Using other methods to drive appropriate traffic to the squeeze page is the way to go.

As for buying a list DO NOT do that because sending emails to people who did not opt into you list amount to spam. It would be better to build a list on your own. Using solo ads may work very well for you if they are targeted properly.

I think the best way is to get a squeeze page and a free gift to giveaway and start to build your list.As for autoresponder I'm using getresponse,I think aweber is good too but I just like the layout of get response better it's totally up to you

Just start and take action.... Drive traffic (blog, videomarketing, paid traffic....) to a squeeze page and build your list.
Build relationship with that list, market to it, share helpful tips and focus
    on 80% value 20% promotions.
Reinvest all income back to build your list.

Don't buy email adress... Try to build your own list. Build an optinpage where you offer a free report (on target with your list) for subscribing to your list. Promote your squeeze page with FB ads or Bing Ads. Offer valuable content to your subscribers.

    I wouldn't suggest buying a list.

Honestly, you should be creating content (like blogging), using that content to drive targeted traffic to your site, and capturing that traffic into your email list.

There's no point in having a list that isn't engaged and doesn't care about what you're doing, no matter how big it is.

One of the best ways to build an engaged list that truly wants your products is to genuinely care about them, provide them with free information that's going to improve their lives, and then promote your products or services (every once in a while).

If you're struggling to capture emails, Robbie Richards wrote and epic post that will solve that for you: www.robbierichards.com/email/grow-your-email-list/.

    Have fun!

I echo what others say in regards to not buying a list. That's a quick way to get your autoresponder accounts banned besides the fact that it's unethical.

Do not buy lists, they are not reliable at all. You may land right in a Spam Trap with a bought list, and if you do then this will seriously dent your sender reputation for good. There are some pretty good tips in these threads that can help you in building your email list:

I think by now with all the answers above, you probably decide that buying a list is a really bad option.

The best way to build your list in my opinion, after lots of trial and error, is give something for free with lots of value.

If you wanna go the free route to get traffic then youtube videos, forum posting, article posting are good options to start.

If you can invest in ads, I'd go for facebook ads but sending the subscribers to a thank you page that inform them that the freebie has been sent to their email address and a link to an easy CPA offer (email/zip submit) to get back your money spend on FB ads.

Make sure you set up an autoresponder email follow up sequence, give a lot of value in every email so you can get a list of loyal raving fans of your work.

Email marketing is the best long term online business model whatever niche you're in.

That is a good idea and I would like to do that for starters... However, I'm not so interested in investments for ad's to begin. Any tip's on how to begin with out paying for ad's at the start? And a free auto responder to use for THIS free type of method? Obviously I'm looking to learn how to do these steps for free and than I would move into other list building and marketing methods to use. At that point I'd more than likely upgrade to a paid service or two.
I am not in the position to pay but I am also able to get to that point and when I do I'd like to at least know from hands on working experience, what I need to do and how to go about doing each step involved in list building and marketing with THOSE paid services.
