Hi guys,

How much times do you guys usually leave between sending emails to new subscribers when you're trying to sell them a product?

Currently, I have an email go out as soon as they sign up, but how long should I wait to send the second email, then the third, fourth, etc.

Thanks in advance for your help!

    Hi LKR,

I email everybody - new and old - once a week. This gives them time to digest my 7,000 word posts.

I don't sell anything through my emails; good God, at least I don't try to do so lol......but I do help them, ask them questions, and answer their questions. Then, they just buy my stuff or hire me because they WANT to work with or buy from the guy who was so nice, helpful and detached.

Whatever your email frequency, move your energy from *trying to sell* to *helping to free* and you'll do A-OK online.

    Onward and upward!

There is no golden rule but it really depends on your list building goals.

If you could build a list big and quick enough, you could smash through it with promotions (expecting your list to burn out).

On the other hand, if you're building a list to cultivate by offering heaps of value, 1-2 day breaks is more than enough. Just remember that, your subscriber could potentially be in many other marketer's list so your email could easily get lost in the crowd.

I think you might need to adjust you Mindset a little.

The question needs to be how long before you contact Subscribers when you're trying to build a relationship with them.

The selling of the Products will come in due time once you take care of the above.

That being said in MMO Niche when trying to build a relationship with them I do it every other day.

Non - MMO niche typically three times a week.

I would email them when you have something valuable to tell. There are some marketer out there who mail everyday but when you have a look what they are mailing then you will see that's just a pitch for a product every day. Then you have on the other hand marketer who mail you every day as well like Ray Higdon or John Chow but they provide massive value with every mail. Guess from which one I read more likely their mails???

I write my list normally three times a week sometimes less when I don't have to say something which is not helping them. I mean try it out you'll see if they get annoyed when you write them every day and you'll also see if you write them to randomly. It's all a question of testing.

Personally, after all the testing I've done in various different niches, I send email to subscribers on days 1, 3, 6, 10 and 15 and thereafter at 5-day intervals, with a product-recommentation of some kind occupying the last part of one email in three.

If I send email more often than that, or promote more than that, I earn less money.

Thanks for all the replies, guys. Some good stuff here.

I have captured emails for this list because they had interest in a product (they entered their email to access the sales page) so my goal is probably different to someone who runs a website like John Chow, for example, and is looking to build a solid relationship with his readers.

However, I realize that building a relationship of some kind is important in my situation, too.

    Thanks again!

I email to my list daily with new WSOs. Most of your email list members are receiving emails daily about the new WSOs.

Heaven forbid that you should try to earn their trust and respect by providing them with any valuable content.

Incorrect. None of my subscribers is receiving daily emails about any WSO's at all, from anyone. If ever you want to take your blinkers off, a whole world of email marketing, from which large numbers of people are making their full-time livings, awaits you: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post6123982

Alexa, thanks again for this link. You're sharing a lot of good stuff on these forums. I'm a newbie when it comes to email marketing, so I'm trying to take it all in!

I'm surprised that SEO doesn't lead to many sales - I agree that relying on SEO (or any algorithm-powered traffic source) can be problematic, and that's one reason I'm starting to collect emails.

Some of the posts you're sharing go back 3-4 years, so you're clearly having a lot of success with this thing .

        Thanks again!

Aside from my auto-responder, I personally try to make a direct approach with them, once my AR has sent me an opt-in subscription via email.

I'll use their email to see whether they are connected on Facebook, and send them an email to follow up and inform them that it's my personal account and start getting to know more about them.

Selling hard everyday is not good for your business long term.

You want to give your readers value. Most hard sell every single day which is not good. Give your readers value like articles and links to info videos.

When someone first comes onto your list its important to email frequently so they can remember who you are, and so you can be on their radar.

I usually send an email every day for that first week, and slowly spread out my messages after that.
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[9888958].message }}
  • I have emailed every day the first three days after that every three days, and so on.

The first thing is to provide helpful tips so they can get value from your emails and don't unsuscribe.

It depends on the niche and list though.

You should email them every single day.

Maybe you don't want to sell them something every day though.

But if you know how to write, I'm sure people won't mind if you sell them every day... Let's take Ben Settle as an example...

This guy offers you his paid newsletter every day, but he's so good at it that I don't mind consuming his content.

Check him out, opt-in his list and you'll know what I'm talking about

I believe you can do both strategies in your AR series.

You can give then good value info in every single email and then just drop a line saying that if they want to now more about whatever subject you're giving value about, you recommend this is course/video/product...etc. (Better of is your own product) Something low price high value.

I've been doing this for a while and not only I do keep a higher amount of subscribers for giving them value in every email but I do get to separate in the first two-three weeks the freebie seekers from the buyers.
