How Long Did It Take You To Reach 1000 subs?

How long did it take you to reach 1000 subs? AND, what strategies (traffic strategies, landing page concept, etc) did you use to reach that, and what would you do right now to reach that number of subs quicker?


I'm a just starting out in the IM world, and I would love to learn how to get to this number as quick as possible. I just want some proven strategies that you all have used to reach that number, whatever it was that you did. It'll be greatly appreciated for me as I am starting out.

    It took quite some time...

    As I dabbled for a really long time, yet never really fully committed to list building.

    Keep in mind Jordan that you can get to 1,000 quickly...

    However, what's more important is the quality of those 1,000.

    I've had segments of 20,000+ and I've had 1,000 segments...

    Where the 1,000 made a helluva lot more than the 20,000.

      Thanks a lot for sharing that James. Building a list of laser targeted customers is essential in my opinion also.

        There are loads of methods for building lists and you can literally get to 1000 subs in just a few days by just buying one large solo ad or multiple ads (to spread the risk)

        But if you are looking for laser targeted subs, I have found using Facebook ads has really helped me. It's more costly than Solos and Funnel clicks etc.. but you are going to get better quality and better conversion. Also you can pin down exactly where you want the traffic to come from and what they are interested in etc..

        Once you have a bunch of like minded people on your list you can upload this list into FB and use Facebook's intelligence to create 'lookalike' audiences - you can then target this group for even better accuracy.

        for me 1000 subs took a few months using lots a different methods. I could do it far quicker now... but I didn't know what I know now - if you know what I mean!

          Thank you so much. That did help a lot. I really have been considering doing ads, either Bing Ads or Facebook Ads to be exact. Would this be a good idea to start gaining traffic fast to build a list?

            In this current business it took me a few days using solos.
            But I think you should be thinking about your long term goals.
            Reaching 1000 subs as fast as possible doesn't really say anything.

    It depends on your niche and content.

    I got my first 1000 subscribers within couple of months. Targeted traffic and quality content are the key factors of getting more subscribers.
