E-mail Marketing. Looking for a program

I've been into E-mail marketing for a while but I'm about to upscale and I'm looking for a free/cheap program to do that with. I'm not really into paying monthly fees for mail chimp etc. If someone could point me in the right direction for a nice program with a one time payment it would be much appreciated.
Thanks

  • Mailchimp does have up to 2000 free subscribers and up to 12000 emails a month right?

    • Sure but they keep banning for some reason and so do a few others. Not sure why I abide by the rules but I have no intentions of trying MailChimp again

  • If you're building a quality, profitable list, a monthly fee for your auto responder shouldn't really be an issue. That being said, maybe you want to look into a self hosted solution

    • I know many have been down this road. And I am sorry to say that splurging for a mere $20 a month for a helluva service like Aweber or Get Response is the best way to go.

I know you do not want to hear that. But essentially it will come to that sooner or later

  • Aweber and others do have pricing plans, instead of paying monthly, you could pay quartlerly or just a 1 time yearly fee, which does seem to work out cheaper. Unless you are struggling with money atm, you should invest in a high quality autoresponder, free may not be the best quality and could costing you in some other way...
  • I have read many times, often on this forum, that MailChimp does not work for affiliate marketing or the MMO niches.

I totally agree with the mention of Trafficwave above. They do not increase the price when your list gets large (like the others do) and they also have an excellent affiliate program. And their emailing service is very good as well.

    • Email marketing and free or cheap should never be used in the same sentence.
Email marketing is both expensive and difficult to do just like any other niche online.
Most ESP's do not allow for IM and MMO on them due to its spammy nature to begin with when promoting it via email.
I doubt you will find any esp that will allow you to promote this niche for any extended period of time, unless you are running a double opt in list, and even then, a few complaints could shut that down in no time.
If your looking to push these niches, a self hosted platform is the way to go.

  • Just go with a paid one if you're serious about your business
  • I use IMSC Rapid Mailer. It is a self hosted Wordpress plugin. Let me know if you want an affiliate link for it. It is very good, they have ironed out any bugs that were present in the beginning. You can build any size list, and only ever pay once.
  • If you are serious you should get AWeber. Or other paid service. Also make sure you ask support if they allow to send to your niche.

    Mailchimp - no affiliate offers
This is a business, so there are expenses.
  • Trafficwave seemed to give me excellent delivery rates when I last tested them. That may of course changed as it becomes more popular and starts getting abused.
  • Cheers for they replys. I found a solution.

    Thanks

  • I would recommend you using Responsly.com they seems to be wayyy cheaper than aweber and they also have a decent deliverability , im pretty sure they allow affiliate marketing and you can import your list as well

    • I'm online for years now.. and never really seen any shortcuts to work out for me..
Simply grab your free trial of 30 days fro getresponse.. and then 15$ monthly for up to 1000 subscribers shouldnt be an issue

Learn progressively how to build relationship with your list, and then how to get traffic, and all the stuff (slowly, step by step, at your own pace.. )..and am sure you will earn well other 100$ monthly real soon, so the autoresponder fees wont be an issue
  • Just be careful with remotely hosted scripts. Make sure you backup often, because if they close your account for any reason you lose all your data.

A self hosted script has the advantage of being able to add people at any time, and people not having to double opt-in which is a bit of a pain.
