What Email Title Got You The Most Curious Today?

I am always checking out out other marketers emails...and the ones that get me curious or excited to open I definitely give it the Gold Star and placed it in a folder I will test later.

So what did you see today that got you where you were really in a hurry to click it open?

And do not say "payment notification" Congrats on that anyway!


Once I was doing a search for something concerning marketing and one article came up and it was from a website called TheMiddleFingerProject.com Hilarious. But the freaking information was no joke and darn helpful.

I had forgotten the site owners name so when I got her first email I had no clue who it was but the email title was eye popping!

Here is that one that stood out for me and really I have never seen anything like it!

"Hey Smart Ass!" That was the email title!

And you know that first sentence that you can sometimes preview in yahoo...it read like this...

Once upon a time, a girl walked into a bar...


Here is the entire first um...."welcome email"?

...Just kidding. She walked into your inbox. Duh.

If you want to double your profits without breaking a sweat, cut through the neverending sea of sameness (you don't have to do it the same way as every other monkey on the internet), sell your ideas like a big shot (because paupers aren't cute), handle clients gracefully, ask for the kind of money you really want, write things people really want to read, reclaim your life from the inbox, and learn how to take your idea and turn it into the hottest thing on the block...The Middle Finger Project is your new religion.

I want to know you, because one of my biggest pet peeves is when online "gurus" blab on for days just to hear themselves talk, treating everybody else and their mother like another number.


(Plus, I like to send out random surprises in the mail, but I need a few details to pull a stunt off like that.

      I know what you mean gibsonjoe. I love to not check email for a couple days and when I see all the last chance, final hours, closing forever emails I feel like I saved so much time and energy already and just delete those.

      Being a marketer and being marketed to is like driving and being a pedestrian...we see things a different way at different times.

    Headlines with CONGRATULATIONS! or Thank You also works well.

      I would have thought Free gets you a free ride to spam folder more often than not.

      I think I read something by you on solos. You certainly did not pull any punches when you described your philosophy on unsubscribes.

        Word "free" is not strong enough to pull you to spam folder by itself. It also strongly depends on your reputation as a sender. I use AWeber and my emails always go to inbox.

        As for unsubscribes I do not pay much attention to them, if a person wants to unsubscribe just let them.
