getresponse is even better than AWeber for that issue. You can also use a server-side service like ArpReach like me and connect and send emails using Mandrill or Mailjet. That's what I do and I have had ZERO problems that I used to have with hosted autoreponder/list management systems. My email deliverability is high as well.

But then there's no features like hosted options, correct?

What about spam issues b/c it's running thru your hosting company correct?

Is your hosting account dedicated or shared?

I wanted to go server side years ago & switch my SC to Magento, but Magento didn't have recurring billing & it was too much for me to get an add-on developed, so I never did it.

That's one reason I've stuck with 1SC even though I can't stand them. That & b/c the list is built into the entire system, every time a customer purchases, they are automatically put on the client list. You can't do that with standalone list software even if it's hosted.

ArpReach has virtually ALL of the features of the hosted options. I recommend getting their most expensive package to be sure. They are under new ownership as well, last I checked anyway, and were making a great offer. You should check to see if it's still going. If not, I still recommend the top package.

I should have mentioned that I DO use a dedicated hosting account.

As far as the customer being added to your list automatically, I can tell you , this is why 1SC is smart at making a killer offer. They made it so it's hard to "let go". Truth is, it's EASY to automate still.

All you would do is make your "thank you" page an auto-responder form first. Getting something like that programmed on a freelance site like ODesk should be pretty cheap TBH, assuming you'll rebuttal the thank you page method

And I think it's run by Gary Ambrose who created Email Aces years ago.

If you have a wordpress site you can use a free plugin called mail poet. It will allow you to maanage your list, email content and sending of emails all from your own website for free. They have a premium version too that comes with additional templates and tracking options.

Should check it out.
