Well I hate to break it to you, but you will need to have some sort of server in order to build your email list. However there are ton's of ways to build a list without a website.

The are ton's of companies out there which help you get started on building a list without a website. But first things first, you will need an autoresponder (A company which stores your list, and automates the messages you send to your list).

I assume you already have a niche selected. Niche= your audience, e.g dating, weight loss, making money online, etc...

Here is what to do

1. Get your autoresponder-Go to Getresponse.com and sign up to their free 30 day trial. Follow the instructions there (They give you tons of training).

2. Go to a website called leadpages.com or Instapage.com.- These are separate companies which help you build sleek looking squeeze pages without a website and with just a few clicks of a button. They have pages which convert at very high rates because they test them rigorously.
(Conversion= The percentage of people visiting your opt-in form who subscribe to your list).

3. Create a web form in Getresponse- This is the opt in box where people will sign up to your email list e.g "enter your best email address here". The training on Getresponse will tell you exactly how to do this. Once the form is created get the Javascript code they sent you and save it in a notepad txt file.

4. copy the Javascript code to your squeeze page company-Once you have created your squeeze page in either leadpages.com or Instapage.com you can then paste that Javascript form in the section where it asks for your autoresponder details.

Now you have a squeeze page which is ready to collect email addresses.

Create a FREE gift-The next thing you want to do is create a free report to give to your subscribers. This can be a short 3-4 page document which address and gives a solution to a problem. e.g how to make money online! Make sure your squeeze page is centered around your free gift.

2 Ad swaps- Like solo ads you contact another list owner to exchange traffic from their list to your list and vice versa. You need to have a few subscribers to do this however, so wait until you have 50 or so subscribers.

Blog commenting- This is a great way to get FREE targeted traffic. you go to another persons blog in your niche, and be the first few to comment on their blog. Provide a good useful comment, and add a link to your squeeze page in the name section.
