Solution to Aweber stripping <p> tags from copied text

5 replies
Hi, I've been trying to paste text from a browser to Aweber's text box without paragraphs and text sticking to each other. Understand that Aweber is not able to help with this at the moment, having checked with the support staff.

The problem with this is one has to spend more time breaking text and paragraphs up at the right places, it's not that tedious, but to do this for hundreds of emails, it can be quite time consuming. I tried pasting text in some text editor or Gmail, but it doesn't work. It works very well in MailChimp.

Do you have this problem?

If you do, what did you do to solve this?

Thanks!

    I don't use aweber anymore, ESP's have moved on and they haven't kept up, but I always prepare my emails before I paste them in .. are you using the HTML editor or the text editor

      Really? Thought Aweber's best for affiliate marketing email solutions. Maybe I should try GetResponse or something else then. But right now I'm using the free trial so if something can be done with this formatting problem, it will be awesome.

      I prefer HTML editor. How do you normally prepare your emails? Thanks!

        Getresponse, mailchimp, Aweber.. are all falling behind sites like Active campaign and Customer.io lists are so 2000 now tags "recency" tracking are where it's at for example i just sent a reengagemnet email to everyone who doesn't have the tags engaged and recency 1 month... but that's a discussion for another thread.

        ANyhow back to the main topic,

        Any html tool will build a decent looking email for you the key thing is to make sure that width is 400 PX..

        This the top of my email

        Code:
        <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
        <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
        <head>
        <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
        </head>
        <body>
        <div style="width: 400px"> <span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;">

    Aweber sucks for this. Emails are never spaced how they are supposed to be. Never.
