300 emails sent - Zero opens!

I did a solo ad plus Facebook ad.
Out of 330 clicks I have received 106 confirmed opt-ins. There are 46 unconfirmed. 2 unsubscribed. Not a bad number for the first time.
Through the first week of my autoresponder series, I have sent out 312 emails, including the welcome email. According to the stats, not one email was opened - other than the tests I sent to myself.
Some of my email titles:
"Why Abdominal Fat is More Deadly Than You Think"
"Recipes to Liven Up Your Office Lunches"
"Maximum Nutrition with Raw Food"
"How To Get Over The Weight Loss Plateau"

Any suggestions on getting emails opened?
Are my numbers too small to get good stats? I would think at least a few emails would have gotten opened.
Could they all have been just going for the free report?

100 subs isn't a big number but surely your subs quality is crap and could be fake.

Time to rely on fb ads to build a quality list. You can also start doing double optin to ensure getting raving subs only.

Another tip is to gather and use their firstname on your titles, this will increase the open rates.

If these are recent opt-ins and you have zero open rate it is possible that the method used to track the opened emails could be flawed. Perhaps your autoresponder is to blame. You would think someone would open them.

You do not want the emails going into a spam folder. Be sure your return email address (listed as the email of record for that specific autoresponder campaign) is not a free email services such as gmail or yahoo but rather a domain email address. That reduces the spam rate of the emails you send.

Let me ask you a question.....

Did you get these subscribers from a solo ad?

If you did then I am here to tell you the truth and that is that getting subscribers onto your list from a solo ad is useless. You would be better off if you spend your money on pay per click ads.

      Thanks for the responses.
I would love it if the autoresponder is not tracking correctly, but when I added myself to the series, it noted the emails that I opened. Not getting much traffic to affiliate links, so that confirms it as well.

I am using double opt-in which is why I only got 107 instead of 150.
I have a domain email address and I try not to use spam words in my subject line.
I'm going to try to put the first name in the subject line to see if that gets better response.

I will put as much money into fb ads as I did with the solo and see if I get a better response. (I spent $25 on fb and got 17 clicks.) I will also look into PPC.

      Hi Talfighel!

I definitely agree with you 105%. Guess what, previously I also used solo ads and guess what??? After several months, I noticed that all those people who subscribed from that solo ads became "UNSUBSCRIBERS" - all of them so please make sure to be careful in spending your dollar with solo ads. I would recommend to have both organics and PPC or PPV or CPM.

        Hi,

There could be many reasons for no emails opened.

When you are on solo ads you find people with mixed market / niche.

So you are not sure whether subscribers are really interested in the topic or not.

Such as; you can start a website/blog about Email Marketing and then advertise your page for targeted audience which you can find on various forums by typing such as email marketing forums or directories on search engines.

Once you have subscribers who are interested in the niche and if they are double opt-in, then you can see the results and difference.

There mostly would be more emails opened.

That's why I don't use solo ads anymore. I think I will never use them again.

Are you sending HTML emails of Text emails?

Open is tracked by a pixel in HTML emails so if you text emails it cannot track open rates. Or if the email provider of the subscriber blocks images it still will show as unopened.

However you should look for clicks. Sometimes I send out emails that gets more unique clicks than opens. But If you get clicks it means someone opened them, hope this helps :-)

You probably got junk subscribers. I had the same thing happen to me with lots of subscribers and hardly and opens or unsubscribes.

    Hi

This is a very frustrating and discouraging scenario for you.

I can see that several people here are commenting about the possible poor quality of the leads you have got from your paid solo ads.

And it's possible that this is the problem.

But even if you paid for, and got very high quality leads, there are lots of other reasons why people don't open your emails.

One of the biggest reasons for non opens is irrelevance.

The disconnect between your freebie, your messages and the product you want to sell.

So It's helpful if you can go back to the start of your process.

What exactly was your Free Report about?

I can see from your email sequence that it was something to do with the healthy eating niche.

    Or was it Raw Food?

Or maybe it was weight loss?

"Liven up your office lunches" is a bit out of place. I'm not saying it's not a good subject. But it doesn't seem to fit with the general topic.

I hope you don't think I'm being critical. But it's difficult to tell from your email sequence what your message is to your subscribers.

Going back to your Free Report

If, for example, you're free report was about healthy eating in general then it's very difficult to know what to write in your follow up emails because you don't really know what it is that your subscribers are struggling with.

So that's the first thing to do. Go back to your Free Bribe and narrow it down to a more specific problem. That way you can develop your follow up sequence around helping them with that problem.

You might not get as many subscribers but the ones you get will be more interested in what you have to say and will more likely open your emails

Don't fall into the trap of worrying about the ones who don't subscribe.

Is the product you are promoting relevant to your Free Bribe & emails?

Make sure that the product you're promoting is highly relevant to the free bribe you are giving away.

In fact a good way to do this is to start with your affiliate product first and create your free bribe around that product.

Read the bullet points on the sales page to get an idea of the problems the product is solving.

    Your Squeeze Page

Now go back to your squeeze page and make sure that you are attracting only people who want information on your specific topic.

Call out the people you want to sign up

i.e. To all New Moms who are struggling to lose the belly fat.

If you don't want to be that 'audience specific' then may be:

5 Ways to Lose Belly Fat with a Low Carb Diet.

I'm not suggesting that they are the best headlines. Just wanted to give you an idea.

If you're going to pay money for solo mailings or FB ads then you need to make sure you're not wasting money attracting the wrong people.

Not only that, but after all the effort you have put in, getting discouraged is the last thing you want.

Good luck. Hope it all works out well

Could be an issue with tracking. No opens with that number sounds a little fishy.

And solo ads for MMO niche is already a very questionable way to get Subs. I have some success with it but only from a few sources.

Solo Ads in weight loss niche I bet are really questionable leads. Maybe just junk, recycled ones

A good way to build a list in facebook is to run a giveaway.

Haven't got the stats here but the last one I ran was less that 10c per subscriber, double optin ..and a signup rate of 89%

I find a giveaway that has some value , a book bundle , a fitness tracker etc works well.. If you get 500 on the list the cost is still way less than solo ads and the quality a lot lot higher.

You can also slip in a CPA offer or Amazin offer on the thank you page to offset the cost

Double optin will get rid of the fake addresses if any.

    I suggest branding yourself.
We all get a flood of emails every day with titles like the ones you posted.
But if you had your name in there first, then they'd be able to recognize that
and you WILL see more results if they recognize you

LADY Lo8 - How To Get Over The Weight Loss Plateau...etc.

that said, you might look into taking a few copywriting courses.
Good email subject lines are worth a ton and there's plenty out there.
Start with google for the lines themselves
and u could try youtube for an email copywriting course

    go from there.

That's a pretty bad conversion rate (no offense). The list is probably dead (emails inactive, fake, whatever...) unfortunately. Keep your head up
