Need Help With Email Marketing - List Purchased

Hey guys,

Can anyone help me here? I have a few quick questions.

I purchased a list of 15K names an email addresses of people in my niche that more than likely will purchase what I am selling.

What is the best way to send out this list? Aweber? GetResponse? Or something else?

How should I address the list? Should I offer a free e-course to opt in? Or what is the best way?

If I load it all up on GetResponse or Aweber, how will I know who opted in or out and if I can legally send them another message again?

Thank you. I am new at this and any help will be appreciated. If I put this in the email will I be safe on the first email I send to them?

P.S. This is an advertisement and a promotional mail strictly on the guidelines of CAN-SPAM act of 2003 . We have clearly mentioned the source mail-id of this mail, also clearly mentioned the subject lines and they are in no way misleading in any form. We have found your mail address through our own efforts on the web search and not through any illegal way. If you find this mail unsolicited, please reply with "Remove" in the subject line and we will take care that you do not receive any further promotional mail.

Thank you,
Jason Owens

I'm don't really recommend buying from someone else list but since it's already there I suggest you go get a self hosted autoresponder as it's hard to get all your list uploaded on Aweber , Getresponse since they don't want people buying a lists.

    You can check Rapid Mailer

Are the list co-reg or just from you? If it's co-reg then it's most likely be a burnt out list so don't expect to much response from them.

Just email the usual emails and offers and you'll be fine. Since the people on that list don't know you it's most likely t hey will be surprised and you might get a lot of spam complaints.

I wouldn't put that in the message. All you need to do is be can-spam compliant.

    As Marked09 asked...is it co-reg?

Since the list is so small, I would get a self hosted mailer or autoresponder, preferably something cheap in case thing don't go well and put it on a cheap VPS and send it out and see what happens.

But since it is so small, you may get lucky and have no problems.

Maybe i'm giving wrong information but if i was in you position maybe i would upload that list to FB custom audiences and then i could do an ad with an optin page only for that list, and i could see the responsiveness of that list and, at the same time, getting the contacts in a not spammy way (if you understand me).

You go wrong by purchasing a list. But since you purchase it I will advise you to work with GetResponse and and go by double opt-in to filter the list and come out with people who will be interested

Please, there is no need to have Confirmed Optin. On the whole you will lose money in long term.

Jason, may I ask how the List was originally built ? What product or video or were they put on the List after buying something ?

It's important to first know if the people who signed-up for the list you just bought knew their email addresses will be sold, at one point.

If they haven't consented to this, most likely they won't respond to your offer. I know, you think that out of 15,000 people there will be quite a few who will buy, but it doesn't work that way. If it did, everyone would make a lot of cash around here, because there are plenty of people selling huge email lists.

Well... buying a list is a big no no in my opinion. My only suggestion is to go through these emailsand run them through Facebook. Copy each one to see whether or not that user has that address accounted to Facebook.

Some will and some won't. But for those that do, start establishing relationships with those people and eventually for those that are really interested in what you do will step in. But don't message these people with the intention of spamming.

Start friendly, and if your Facebook content is related to what you're doing, then eventually people will resonate with you (IF) those leads are actually targeted.

    All the best.

Serious noob question...I don't understand how opt-in process works.

Even if you buy a list of people that have "opted in" for info on a specific niche, there is no real value to you because they haven't opted in to receive info regarding YOUR product, right? What is the point in buying an "opted-in" list then?

Exactly. But if they opt-in, know that their email addresses might be sold in the future as leads, things change and they become more responsive. Still, that rarely happens and such a list won't come cheap. Most of the time the owner just sells the list away with no regards to his subscribers' privacy.
