Is my conversion decent enough? How do I push more?

Hi All,

I have a small site which receives approx 150 visits/day. Out of this approx 15-16 people fill and confirm the double opt-ins. Some more submit the details, but since they don't confirm, I don't want to bring them in the pic.

Now, would you say it is a decent conversion (I feel it is not!)? If not, how do I make more people to fill up the opt-ins?

PS: I have a custom thank you page, describing with images how to confirm the email.
PPS: My visitors are targeted, and comes from related keyword.

Thanks!

I am not sure if your specific niche is different, but the average opt-in rate, assuming you are offering something of great value is 30-40%. At this point, you are at 10%, so no, you opt-in rate is not good enough. If you want more people to sign up, chances are, you need to have a better reason for them to sign up. What I mean is you need to make sure that whatever giveaway you have to convince them to give you their email is of great value to the people in your niche. I don't know what your niche is, and there is a good chance I don't know much about it in any case, so that is probably the only advice I can give.
Also, you should have probably posted this in the main marketing forum. More people would have seen it.

For double Optin that is not bad. Especially since it is not a conventional sq. page.

But you really need to switch to single Optin and you will see a big difference

      Hi Robert,

Yes you are correct it is not a conventional sq. page, instead it's a small blog which I update maybe once a month. However, I direct the users to the opt-in page through contextual linking, side bar opt-ins, and one single popup throughout the whole visit time.

Does that provide you with some more info for analysis?

Where you place the opt-in box is important. Do you have it on the right, left, top, mid page or is it a pop up?

I have placed the sidebar opt-in on top right corner. That's the first spot! Other than that, I have a several contextual links leading to squeeze page, where they can enter the Name and Email ID. Do let me know your thoughts!!

Why your visitors subscribe you. Give a reason to them. Give something useful to them.

Place your subscription widget in relevant places. (After post, top of the sidebar).

Use a plugin like optinmonster or wpsubscriber. The content and the design of the subcription widget is very important to increase conversion rate.

Optinmonster is best plugin according to my experiance.
