Here i got how to do email marketing for myself. But if you want to start it as profession by doing email marketing for others, what all you need and how to start?

For example few things which coming up in my mind -

- which software to use which can be accessed by clients to check stats.?
- what else be needed other than software?
- which kind of hosting is needed in case if needed?
- do i need domain name for this?
- any site to design emails

and what are the top sites which are doing it.

I used to do it for myself with small email list with mailchimp. But at larger scale i need my own software.

Please share your ideas and experience.

Just out of curiosity, have you research this information yourself, and if so, what did you already find (and why was it unusable)?

I'm confused as to what you really like. Do you want to manage other's email campaign? Or do you want to be an Email Service Provider?

The domain and hosting question threw me off.

Hi John, Thanks for your reply.

At the moment i just wanted to explore kind of opportunities in email marketing. I am a seller in bedding and curtains niche and manufacturing and selling these on my own webstore.

=> With time i have accumulated email ids and was thinking of using these to add additional source of income. Then i came across Solo ads concept and found 1 way of utilizing these emails to start solo ads in home and garden niche....what you guys say?

but i am afraid if i send solo ad mails from same login and mail software (mail chimp i am using at the moment), my subscribers start unsubscribing. Should i go to some other software or login for solo ads so that my own product marketing does not affect by solo ad marketing. Whats the right approach here

=> i am also planning to make an squueze page to increase my mail list in home and garden niche as i am selling beddings. what can i giveaway here to get subscribers. Should i made squeeze page on my own blog of products site? or choose other domain name for it?

=> i also wanted to know that in case if i go for self hosted mail marketing option, i have to opt software and SMTP service. what additional do i need and is it better that ready softwares like mailchimp etc.

      Please share your opinions here.

Is there a demand for solo ads in the home and garden niche? You'll want to research and find something like bloggers to see whether they have an advertise button and send emails out. If not... suggest it to them and depending on the cost and budget it would work out very well for you if the demand is there.

A solo ads business is a completely different ball game, and if you're worried about people unsubscribing, then to be honest... you're in the wrong business. The title of this thread is "Email Marketing as Profession".

Do you just want to sell email traffic, or do you want to focus on building yourself as an authority in this niche?

Video training, or an email bootcamp series would work well. I don't know how much detail you can break down when it comes to beddings, but I'm sure you can work that out.

If you already have a domain, you can just set things up on a new directory i.e. YOURDOMAIN.COM/BEDDINGS. If your domain for whatever reason isn't necessarily related, then you may want to consider getting a brandable domain.

I personally wouldn't suggest going that route. If you're already with MailChimp, you might want to consider moving over to GetResponse and import your contacts without having to be concerned about losing subscribers (assuming these people opted in to your list in the first place).

Thanks Shaolinsteve for your inputs. It will really help me clearing focus and understanding things to move ahead

=> Is there a demand for solo ads in the home and garden niche?
++ Frankly speaking i cound not find any even for my own promotion. all solo ads are for online money making niches.

=>You'll want to research and find something like bloggers to see whether they have an advertise button and send emails out. If not... suggest it to them and depending on the cost and budget it would work out very well for you if the demand is there.
++ I did not get you here. Advertise button on other bloggers site - how will it help me? Please explain.

=> Do you just want to sell email traffic, or do you want to focus on building yourself as an authority in this niche?
++ My first priority is to build myself as authority in my niche as my primary things is bedding sales. secondary i can use my buyers list to get additional source of income.

=> Video training, or an email bootcamp series would work well. I don't know how much detail you can break down when it comes to beddings, but I'm sure you can work that out.
++ Thanks i will explore these and try

You could start writing a blog about home and gardening.

It is better to start a brand new site with new domain name. You can build a separate list for this specific niche.

Tell your subscriber that you are starting a new hobby, send them to your new blog. See how they react.

Don't sell anything yet, it is just like friends emailing friends telling them what you are up to.

To track, you can use clickmagick.com

Like I said in your other post, do not fear to lose your subscriber.

Focus on building your list, new susbcriber.

if you want to be an email marketer, you also need a mailChimp account with your subscriber list and then design some awesome Email Template with your product short description. when design ready then send it to your subscriber.

Depends on the size of the list you want to start working with.

For less than 100,000 then maybe go w/ Getresponse, or Aweber.

For more then try to find some third party mailer services similar to Rapid Mailer that you can integrate w/ Mandrill, Amazon, or even some other services.

I've used instymailer in the past & it worked alright.

You can just share the login details with your clients or vice versa.
