A couple of questions for building my first list...

Hey guys,

I'm in the process of building my first autoresponder series for my health site, and I wrote up a really helpful ebook as a giveaway. But I have a few questions about the best practices.

- In my free ebook, should I also link somewhere to my affiliate offer? Or should I keep my ebook totally clean and then push my offer in a later email after I've established a better relationship?

- How long should my emails be in my autoresponder series? I find I get carried away and my emails are 1000+ words, which I think might be excessive, but they're full of great content.

- Would it be better to keep emails short, then link to a full length blog post on my site? Or should I keep the email content 100% exclusive?

Thanks for all your help guys!

Some opinions will vary but here are mine. They work for me.

I always add affiliate links to my free ebooks. I also add a link to subscribe to my list. This way if the ebook gets shared you still can build your list from it and profit from it.

I keep my emails short. If I have a long message I create a blog post and link to it in the email. That way I have better presentation control of what they see.

    Hi Roenick,

Welcome to the forum. To answer your questions:

    1. A couple of affiliate links are fine. Do not overdo the links as you can lose all trust with your potential buyers. You can always put a "Resources I Found Useful" section at the end of your ebook with your affiliate links.

    2. Mix up the length of your emails. But I find max 5 paragraphs is enough. Anything longer put it in a blog post or make a podcast/audio file. You could also protect your blog content with a content locker and email password to subscribers.

    All the best

      Thanks for your input guys,

So I'll include some affiliate links in my ebook but use them sparingly, and include a resources section at the end. And keep my autoresponder emails clean and to the point, and direct them to my blog posts if they're too long.

Yeah put affiliate links in there but dont overdo it.

1000 words is a little to long for an email...Link to the full post on your site.

I'd say keep the Emails much much shorter like 100-200 words max and like you said, send them to your blog posts.

    1) Yes: you can put some link in your E-Book

    2) 500 words could be enought.

    3) The best thing is not write content inside you email, but redirect visotors in a web page with a text or a video!

put it at the end of your ebook

best practice is less than 100 words... because you are not writing a story... then in your email, link them to your blogpost, where under blogpost you can write more than that...

same answer as above, and the good thing is that you can increase the traffic in your webpage

Yes for sure put your affiliate links in your ebook. You always want call to actions in all the content you provide.

It doesn't always have to be a sales offer in the call to action you want to mix it up with free content and also offer products.

With regards to email length... Some are good to keep it short and some can be longer... But if you have 1000 words plus convert them into blog posts and then in your shorter emails link them back to your blog.

Add video content to your site as well... get people to get to know you. You want to let them to discover who you are they can see you and hear you.
