Check your email template first. May be it will go to spam.

For subject line, it depends on your niche. Make it short and attractive which is useful for your subscribers.

Yea that's pretty low. IMO it's unlikely that your open rate is that low just because of your subject line.

My guess is either that your emails/content just plain suck and your readers have tuned out or that you have a low quality email list.

For the first one. Make sure that you're building a relationship with your subscribers. Asking them questions, providing tips/sharing valuable content, giving away deals/freebies occasionally, and emailing consistently.

For the second one, how exactly did you build your email list? Are you using a single or double opt-in? did you get any shady traffic/subscribers from low quality solo ads or Fiverr traffic? Are they freebie seekers and just sign-up to get your free report?

You didn't really mention anything about your list, so we can't help you without you providing more detail about what you've been doing.

Not sure if it's exactly your subject lines...

Just about any subject line can get that percent open rate.

Have you considered the quality of traffic?

I don't think that you should delete your current subscribers.

The best thing and only thing you can do is to FOCUS your attention and actions on getting 20-50+ leads per day.

If you are just going to sit there and wait for the 200 subscribers that you have now to reply to you, you are going to wait forever.

Get new subscribers EVERY SINGLE DAY.

No amount of work on Sub. lines will work with this group.

It seems you have a clearly low quality List there.

Probably got them from a bad source

Personally, it is negligible in numbers so I would just move on. No reason to waste your time with it

I tend to agree that you should move on. I had a similar experience with a list I built as an experiment using a cheap traffic source. Nothing I tried would get them to open. If they don't even open then it's not possible to build a relationship with them. 'The money is in the relationship with the list'.

I would suspect that more than likely the reason for your problem probably stems from the fact that you are more than likely not relating to your readers. Try storytelling or figure out a way to show your reader that you have problems too. The difference between the two of you is that you have figured out how to deal with the problem. Make your reader like you and help him/her know that you are there for them.

    In short, make yourself likeable...

    1%? That is really low.

Change your subject line. It is hard to say which subject line is good.

I recommend you sign up all your competitor list and learn what and how they write their subject line.

What subject lines have you been using so far?
Most people will delete or send your emails to spam without opening them if your subject line is not engaging or interesting in any way. Most people are already sick of getting emails that promise them things too good to be true (frankly, I delete such emails immediately myself).
So try and test things out, find a way to make them curious about what you have to say. And you should also make your email interesting, don't sound too generic, try to relate to them somehow.

    Stew.

For what it's worth, let tell you right now, you are not alone.

A lot of rookie email marketers experience that problem.

They spend a lot of time building up their mailing list but only a tiny fraction of their mailing list members actually open their emails.

Your question is a very common one.

The best way to increase your open rate is to simply play around with you titles.

You need to run experiments as to which titles get opened the most.

You have to remember that an email being opened is not the same as an email generating a sale.

Your open rate might be 1% but if your conversion rate is 50%, then you're good to go.

Still, it's always a good idea to increase your open rate.

How would I go about doing this?

Well, I would suggest the following steps.

Step 1, break up your list of 200 subscribers into 10 sections of 20 subscribers each.

For each of these 10 sections, send an email title that tells a story that's related to the content of your email.

The most effective email title tells of an outcome.

Spell out an outcome but leave some room for mystery.

For example, mention one little change or one weird little secret that yielded positive results.

Make variations of the email title and send the different variations to each of the segments.

Pay attention to the open rate.

    Do you see any changes?

If you see that one particular variation has a higher open rate than your normal open rate, focus on that type of email title.

You should then make a variation of that email title and send to your other subscribers.

Keep repeating this process until you identify the type of subject line that gets opened the most.

    It's all about constant experimentation.

    Don't give up.

I know it's rough at first, but if you do things in a systematic and methodical way, you will succeed.

It totally depends on the two things. First is the subject line, if they are attracted to it then only they will open the email. The second is the content of you email.

I would like to know HOW you got this list. Did you give away something for free ex: a plr ?
Solo ads? Were they targeted at one time and you sent them something unrelated?
