I am providing a service in the fitness market. Customized fitness programs (meal, cardio, excercise).. I am not building a list, just selling a service. We plan on doing an affiliate program but here is my issue.. I have no experience marketing online. I am an experienced personal trainer but need help with the marketing and getting started.. how would you market a product like this? I also will entertain coaching/partnerships so pm me about that too. Is it worth investing in a professional marketing service?? Any help will be greatly appreciated!

thanks!

I know I'm biased because I sell an email writing service, but I still don't see why you could't build a list with the sole purpose of selling the service. Especially in this market where there's so much competition. Email marketing would be a great way to connect and establish a relationship with prospects. And if you're decent at writing, you can do it yourself, without having to hire anyone.

I see your problem. Well, the idea is simple: you need a sales page and affiliates that should drive traffic to that sales page. And a good sales page is not cheap. But there are people in the copywriting sub-section that offer this service.

I would do it the old, tried and tested way: drive quality traffic to a well-written sales page. But quality traffic and a well-written sales page cost money and a lot of planning and thinking.

I know you're well-intentioned, but the people p.m.-ing you with their coaching offers aren't. They're the ones who couldn't make it on their own, so they decided to just "coach" others, selling them the idea that they're these fantastic entrepreneurs who will help others get right overnight for just a small fee. What they really are is failures. So beware any p.m. from these folks - you'll pay money for basic advice, at best.

Again, I'm biased because I sell services that fall into this category, but anyway, here's my take: there are a few people here who could genuinely help you, and whose services would very well be worth paying for. But please, do invest a lot of time and consideration before you buy anything, because ultimately, it's in the benefit of all of us: if you pay for a great service, then you, the vendor, and other vendors like me will all benefit from it. If you don't, then scammers and inexperienced people will make money, driving away serious and hardworking people.

Thank you so much for the detailed response.. I understand you are in the marketing business and are biased but I believe you provided me with very quality information. And yes, I can see what you mean about people contacting me for coaching. As far as a good sales page I probably should outsource that with someone who is very experienced and talented in that field.. the problem I usually run into is it is hard to figure out who are the real marketers and who are the vultures..

I'm going to check out copy-writing sub section as you suggested i also sent you a pm so please take a look when you get a chance. Thank you!

Yeah outsource it.... you can use sites like freelance, fiverr and a bunch of others... a REALLY GOOD sales letter will narrow them down into a buyer... an action taker so it is worth spending the money to get that bit right and the rest will follow nicely.
