Email Service Providers with a kickass service?

6 replies
We are looking for an Email Service Provider that can fulfill at least the following requirements:

* white labeling (we can brand it with our own logo, we will have 1st line support)
* attractive look & feel
* A/B testing capabilities
* easy to use
* spam check
* a clean reputation as a no spam ESP
* flexible WYSIWYG email composer (not just HTML) with responsive layout
* good analytics capabilities
* segmentation attributes should be able to be defined from sub-accounts
* subscribe/unsubscribe forms should be able to be defined from sub-accounts
* triggers
* API access so that it can be integrated into e.g. an e-commerce platform etc
* auto responders (low prio)
* flexible pricing plans, start low and be able to grow

We would like to start with our first customer who have just below 100 K subscribers. Our typical customers' email lists ranges between 10 K - 300 K subscribers with a sendout frequency of 1 to 10 (max) per month.

We expect to have customers with email lists of approx (in all) one million subscribers within the forthcoming six months.

The roughly ten ESPs that we have seen so far is very expensive so any help will be much appreciated.

    Hi,
    I can connect you with the developers of the kind of application you are looking for. The application is having all above mentioned features, and much more. You can private label the application with your logo, tagline, and favicon. Advance tracking capabilities like Geo specific tracking, ability to split test, autoresponder, triggers, multiple user accounts, and several integrated modules like remote bounce processing, domain masking and several others. How we can discuss?

      Thanks for all suggestions that I have received here and via private messages.

      This should be a service that is available out of the box, so having a developer to do seems, well, a bit odd.

    Have you ever thought about hosting your own system?

    To be honest with you, I have not really heard of any white label e-mail service provider and it seems like it is an invitation to a massive headache down the road.

    The moment somebody white labels their service, almost anybody can come up with their own brand that may or may not run into trouble later on.

    I hope you see where this is going.

    Maybe it is a better approach for your clients to work with you as a self hosted e-mail service provider.

    Instead of white labeling, you can install a lot of the many robust e-mail auto respond software applications out there.

    There is no shortage of such applications.

    You might want to go down that route.

    From a purely strategic perspective, a truly legitimate white label e-mail service provider business model does not make much sense.

      Well, this is not just about having an autoresponder nor just having a newsletter system, it's also about marketing automation, that is, being able to integrate newsletters into e.g. the booking flow of a travel company, an order process with an e-tailer etc.

      It's not that hard to find white labeled solutions, it's just that most of them are really pricy, luckily not all of them. The providers of such solutions are into scaling using partners, that is, resellers and agencies. That makes perfect sense, similar to that many companies use resellers to get their products to market.

      Usually what you have to do is to buy premium support for 2nd level support (and of course they also provide 3rd level support) and set up your own organization for 1st line support.

      Actually I don't see why you are saying "From a purely strategic perspective, a truly legitimate white label e-mail service provider business model does not make much sense."
      because that depends on what our strategy is. Having a white label solution fits perfectly into our strategy, especially since we are not in to sell marketing automation/newsletter services on a subscription level, but rather other services.

      Looking at the topic of this thread, I realize that I could have been more clear on what we were looking for.

      I appreciate your thoughts and your input. Thank you!

    My recommendation would also be to go the self hosted route. Then use an SMTP service or Amazon SES for the actual email delivery.

    This way also let's you ramp up your cost as you grow.
