Is this a better option than email marketing? Email Marketing Dead?

From a long time reader and subscriber to copy blogger, I had noticed the change, but never understood how calculated the change was.

Seems brilliant now that I understand it.

Have you tried anything similar? Had any success?

Just read the article here the explains why this million dollar site switched from the traditional optin/squeeze page for a free pdf to a "content library"

Email marketing isn't broken (yet), but Copyblogger found a better way - diginomica

love it.

The article is interesting but the author ends with this...

    Want a free weekly digest?

An email opt-in box for basically his newsletter. The same thing the article was against.

Now that is funny right there hahahha. I guess he has not taken the time to implement it yet. lol

As for the other few comments... I don't think anyone is actually reading the article. I mean... thank you for sharing an opinion because that is what makes this forum thrive, but he is not really saying EMAIL is dead. Just they way it is being done with the traditional squeeze page for some free pdf as the best way to get the email.

It is an interesting model that I have notice a TON of sites switching over to and am now in the process of doing the same.

Worth the read. Of course I would think so.... I shared it

I actually like the model described. I have several free membership sites that use basically that model. They work very well.

Another one I found works well is to post the front part of an article in public view. But when they click the read more link it takes them to the free membership signup. If they are already a member, it takes them to the full article.

Nice article, but I want to inform everyone that email marketing won't dead. Rather it is increasing day by day. Blog or article marketing is obviously fruitful and excellent. But it doesn't mean that the importance of email marketing will be downward. The ROI(Return On Investment) indicates that matter. $44.25 is the average return for every $1 spent for email marketing investment. Of course, the email marketing strategy should be appropriate.

I think Email Marketing will last another 50 years to come as there is no other means you can get your messages to millions of users over night. Look at SEO which controlled by Google, that is a DEAD profession.
