Email Service Provider that does not require double opt-in

Hi:

I am having an issue with finding an Email Service Provider who will email to our list and I am hoping to get some recommendations on who we can use. We have a list of approx 50,000 customers who purchased products from us. I wish to email these customers with new special offers we may have, etc. None of these customers "double opted-in" to our list and that's where the issue is. The US based ESP's won't allow us to send to our database as they are not double opted-in, even though they are ALL actual customers who have purchased from us.

Can anyone recommend an ESP that does not require double opt-in. I believe a NON-US based ESP is probably the best.

Please let me know your recommendations

Thank you,
M

  • How long have these customers been without having any email marketing involved? Hard to say if they'll still be responsive, but being a previous customer it's worth a shot, but I'd recommend cleaning the list first, with something like BriteVerify, then import your list to GetResponse that doesn't require a double opt-in process or a re-optin process, meaning, they won't be sent an email asking for permission to join the list.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Getresponse allows you to import a list without having them confirm

  • I think you can go ahead and test a few thousands (partial list) and try anyone of them including GetResponse and Mailchimp.. if you think you will not get a lot of bounces or worse, aduse complaints, then you'll be just fine... Mailchimp will send you an alert warning that you're getting too many abuse reports.. and ask you to delete your list... if not then they will suspend u indefinitely...

Make sure to also clean your list, use DataValidation and spend a few bucks to clean ur list so you wont have any or very few bounces.

  • I had expirience with Madmimi. Our user database was moved from MailChimp to Madmimi and they didn't ask about double opt-in.

  • Thank you guys for giving out your suggestions.
  • Mailchimp allows you import contacts and Getresponse. I think these two email software are the best.
  • You can check out Sendy Email service, They are a self hosted platform sends email through Amazon SES and is very reliable, it is also really cheap when compared to other top email service provider. I have been with them for last 6 months and happy with their service. Moreover for your list of 50,000 subscribers, you need to spend only $5.00 per email campaign whereas in mailchimp you need to spend around $500.
  • Aweber or GetResponse are probably the two best email clients I could recommend for best results.

    • I agree with you- GetResponse and Aweber are two of the best email marketing services to choose beetween. With them you can easily create good lookin email templates hosting your mailing lists and send newsletters. I'm using GetResponse because in my opinion is much more user friendly.
  • Have you tried Sendlane? I think they are Better than most...

Although AWeber and getresponse does it, I just love that you can create landing pages and have your autoresponder in one place
  • I use Amazon SES. They don't require double optin

    • Do you also send your emails with Amazon SES?

What about a 3rd party email software?

  • I would use a service Like MailGet from the formget people and connect smtp.com service to it. If they are your customers should be able to email them without many complaints...as long as you dont have complaints or too many bounces SMTP not MailGet dont care where your leads come from. Forget will also scrub your leads for bad email address etc to reduce bounce and complainers.... Good luck
