Autoresponder - when to send?

Hi everyone, I have a question about how to set up my autoresponder.

Here's the background. We have a newish site that has a 4,000 subscriber list, growing by about 25 per day. It gets lots of organic traffic and we have been selling ebooks successfully through it. Readers receive an email every Tuesday, notifying them that we have added a new blog post. We haven't sent any promotional emails.

We have just finished writing 5 content-rich promotional emails that we want to send to new subscribers. We're wondering what would be the best strategy to send these out?

Here are a couple of options we are considering:
1. Send all 5 emails out within 10 days of subscribing. i.e. 2 days apart.
2. Send them out once a week on Fridays, so subscribers don't get deluged and they don't overlap with the regular Tuesday emails.

Im leaning towards option 2 as it will be less 'spammy', result in a better UX for the reader, and result in fewer posts being marked as spam. However, I'm concerned that the conversion rate might be lower with a whole week between emails.

Any thoughts?

I would also like to know what the best option would be here. If I were to think so I would go with option 2. Think back when you were getting these emails trying to make money online to where you are now. You probably want it to come with more spacing to not look spammy. Maybe every like 3-4 days would be ideal I would think but im just starting out.

It really depends on what you want to achieve and what kind of relationship you want to build with YOUR list...

Test and see what is working best for you, personally I doubled my profits when I started e-mailing my list daily.

Forget being "less spammy". If these are rich content emails, then those who really value the content, would only resonate with your business more. Personally you want to be aiming for daily or once every 2 days, and keep an eye on resending to non-openers in between.

One thing you have to remind yourself is that... you are not the only business on their email list. A few might but in most cases that's rare. So by leaving a huge gap between, you're only allowing your competition to step in.

You don't have to hammer them with emails, but if the content is there, in time you'll build authority and expectation i.e. "Let's see what they talk about tomorrow" and be consistent with that, sooner or later your following will grow and become accustomed to your approach on marketing.

You're receiving highly targeted subscribers, especially if it's organic. So take this advantage to adjust now, and adapt before your business continues to grow.
