Seeking "Summit" Resources

BACKSTORY

You've attended them, created them, been asked to speak at them ---- or maybe have done all three!

It can be done as a teleconference or webinar format, live or not. It can occur all in a few days, over a week or month.

Most often there are more than 15 speakers involved, all marketing the same event, seeking new subscribers. It's offered free, but because they're often made into a product, affiliate links may or may not be involved.

I'm going to create a conference for financial advisors (my niche) who are ready to seriously grow their firms in the next 12-months. I have tested doing webinars live with my audience -- BAD MISTAKE!! Recorded online webinars are better, but no cigar. While I personally prefer to attend webinars my audience is NOT technology oriented (they're working on it, but I'm guessing 15+ years behind when it comes to technology and the internet. Mostly do to compliance (legal) issues they have to deal with.

Technology wise, I'm thinking of doing live teleclasses with Q and A. OR recorded teleclasses.

I also own a copy of Optimize Press that I purchased from a warrior member, Paul I think. I also own an affiliate program, auto responder program, and can hand code anything html that I can't get to work right

THE RESOURCES I'M LOOKING FOR

Any good step-by-step ebooks, articles, or books you've written or read read on the subject?

Any great "swipe" files you've saved that I can use as templates (especially the ones where speakers are invited to participate and the details are included)

Know of any good conference sites I can visit to get promotional ideas for the squeeze page of my event?

If you've done one, what "do's and don't" would you recommend to a novice? (I've created 12 month event, less complex than what I'd like to do online)

Resources I haven't thought of here

I look forward to a discussion on this topic. Since 2000 I have participated in such events, as a speaker on article marketing, growing an internet business, etc., but never saved any of the emails I received.
