Very clean server was compromised

I made a huge mistake. For years, I've run a very clean, spam-free server. I send about 300,000 emails per day and have never had any problems. Then last week, a series of events created a huge problem.

1. By accident, I resubscribed everyone who ever unsubscribed. It was a terrible mistake. But wait, there's more...

2. The complaints went to an email that was getting auto-deleted by a crazy filter so I never read any complaints.

I saw that there were tons of unsubscribes and SPAM fbls, but I dismissed it as a blip -- after all, I've run a very clean server.

So this went on for a week and no matter what I do, all servers, including businesses at regular business domains have blocked me.

I've requested unblocks and it seems once I unblock, I become blocked again.

In your experience, will this problem clean itself? I only send clean email. If so, how long?

Or do I need to take more action?

Or do I need to trash the server and get a new server with a new IP?

Could I bind the current server to a different IP? Will that solve the problem?

I teach email marketing so this is very bad and I've never had to deal with something like this because I teach to always follow strict principles about sending to a clean list.

Please advise ASAP. =)

    You say you request unblock...unblock what? Are you only mailing to small number of domains?

      I send to 300,000 emails a day. Domains can be divided into groups, I would say:

      1. Public free email providers like yahoo.com, aol.com, or gmail.com.
      This list is actually very relatively small but can make-up 80 percent of your email list.

      2. Business and government emails.
      This is an email like x@warriorforum.com.

      Most people do not use business emails to sign-up for newsletters, so it's not as common to find in the list, but 20 percent is still significant.

      I found that both groups have banned me. I requested an unblock from att.net, which controls bellsouth, sbcglobal and other small email services. These emails make-up a big chunk of my lists. Whatever happened, they still block me despite saying they've unblocked me.

      How all the random business domains have blocked me is a surprise, though. There must be a large spam service that I am now listed (I am not blacklisted with any spam house that I know about) because random business email bounces say I have a poor reputation and will not accept me. The only service I can think of that could do this is barracuda but I checked and the company says I do not have a poor reputation with them.

    What are the actual responses from the smtp's when you send a message?

    I assume you have test accounts...what tests have you done?

    I would advise you to check your SenderScore

    If sender score has been affected after your server was compromised then there is no point to keep the same IPs, just get a new one and warm up server with slow start. I can give you more warmup tips if you pm me

    If senderscore however is still over 80 then you can do some damage control. Things get back to normal in 1-2 weeks if you consistently mail, and make sure you give good content to your subscribers to chew, no hype no selling, just good content. This will increase your engagement rates and ISPs will begin to get back to normal with your email deliverability
