Hello, I wonder if email marketing still work. and if the social media like facebook or twitter has replaced it.

For example if I have an optin list of 5000 people to my business and marketing list. and I sell a product of $30.
How many sale I may expect to get from one email send.

Thanks indeed

Honestly nobody can answer you this question.. "For example if I have an optin list of 5000 people to my business and marketing list. and I sell a product of $30. How many sale I may expect to get from one email send" we don't know anything about your niche, sales funnel, product you want to sell, quality of subscribers, list goes on and on......

First of all, every Optin list is different and your niche will not be my niche.

Your list may not know you like my list knows me.

With all that said, my list of over 2000 buyers gives me an average Open Rate of 25% - 28% historically. The same list has a click through rate of 24%. With a purchase rate of between 3% - 7% depending upon the offer.

Using my numbers above you should get 1250 opens, 300 click through's, and 21 sales.

But if you haven't established a relationship with your list, you probably will not get many sales.

    Just my thoughts and experience.

The question is a bit vague, I mean we won't be able to tell or guess what to expect.
First, $30 cannot be a basis because we don't know what your product is. We don't know if it is really worth its price. Second, how you market your product will also play an important role, as well as creating a compelling subject headline. Lastly, you are the only one who can tell how effective your email marketing is. But I suggest that you experiment on it, try different approach, and know what works best for you.

Yes it really works, especially if you already have a 5000 people list!!
This is the best method if you have low price product as your 30$ products.

It depend on how do you optimize you mailing list and your product's sale page!!

Some great replies on this thread & yes email marketing still works. I would like to add by saying there are a few factors to succeeding.

      1) The most important thing is the relationship you have with your list (know, like & trust takes time to build)
      2) Always give value in your mails to enhance their learning.
      3) Only promote products you personally use or have used
      4) Promote products when you are comfortable doing so. We all have our own level for this.
      5) Learn how to write good headlines & email copy for open rates & conversions.

      Cheers
      Barry.

Your asking a question that's impossible for anybody to answer. And whoever tries to answer, have no clue about what effects e-mail marketing. There are way to many different variables to even give you a guess

Such a general question. But he's a specific answer yes email marketing really works. There so many companies that sell email marketing tools for a reason.

It's all about building a unique strategy for a given niche. Then gradually refining and perfecting.

    That's when things get exciting.

The straight answer to "Does email marketing really work?" is yes.

To what level no-one can tell you as its your list, you know how it was created, how old it is and you won't know how responsive it is until you test it.

However 5000 is pretty small. When sending out offers to 3rd party data I usually calculate 0.5% open rate - and 5-10% for our own data so you need large numbers to make it worth you while.

The key thing with any list is to keep it cleaned and growing otherwise you'll soon run out of offers and interest.
